Ahhhhhhhhh____ just wondering what was missing to come back to the golden period of this site and here is the answer: a debate about bad ratings during competitions. :-] Personally I would find more interesting to understand reasons to start a competition the 31th of july, when most people are about to go on holiday. I was offline for some time during the summer, and maybe I was not the only one. Maybe this is one of the reasons to have for the Sima Edy competition about 1/8 of remixes with respect to the STM competition. About receiving zero ratings without signature, I've got plenty of them during all my permanence here, and the same happened also for my last remix. I had to say that this strange phenomenon never prevented myself to sleep peacefully :-), but at a certain point I tried to imagine what can induce one in this behavior, of course is much more easy to destroy than to construct generally speaking, but I don't want to mark this behavior as "bad". So I remembered that old Disney's cartoon with Goofy changing between Mr. Walker and Mr. Wheeler. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZAZ_xu0DCg And it seems to me that this conveys the idea. Someone (sorry but it seems to me a typical male attitude) changes when having in his hands the power. That can be represented by the wheel, by the TV remote control, or by the mouse. He ceases to use it in a positive way, and he prefer to use it to destroy his enemy, better if the enemies are virtual. Would you please forgive me my spelling mistakes, but English is not my cup of tea.:-] I know that this subject was lifted several times, but I just wished asked the voter to leave a message during a vote. I'm not criticize in the "negative" votes (it is a part of the game, and they can be constructives) but to leave a comment what allows to know exactly what our remix needs. Hey Joe, agin, it's customary for thread initiators to sum-up our collective thoughts. So, in thine abstinance and if'n I may be so bold, basically, choons a tad off kilter or outa tune can easily be remedied by a half decent engineer, if a well engineered track lacks say, quality melodic content, it has to be re-written, not necessarily so wiv an hobbyists/amateurs effort, this is proven. But Joseppe, please bear in mind that if'n u do decide to leave unfavourable comments you will discover that there's self-satisfied, self-opinionated folk round these parts, who will hound you and those who support you, as they believe that their music is somehow above criticism and that their opinion is more valid than any one elses and that one should only, as you mention, say nice things and do as they do and not as say, I say. Like you Joseph, I am not of this opinion, I don't believe, agin, that grown men, generally, here anyhoo, need protecting from adverse criticism, Artists, artistes, Poli-bloody-ticians etc, are all fair game in moi book. Ol' young Pete's probably had 'is fair share of unfavourable criticism, 'e seems to be doin' alright, regardless. And anyhoo, 'ow is one ever gonna learn if'n these self-righteous chinless wonders don't put one straight, eh. :-) Talking about alcohol mixtures we have in Spain, in special in the Basque Country, a very common drink: Coca-Cola and red wine. Its name: kalimotxo. Don't use Rioja or Bordeaux, this would be sacrilege, use cheap red wine. :-] :-] :-] :-] Also you can add a citron slice and rocks (ice cubes). It's powerful because you can drink litres, but also it's dangerous. . . :-] It's a great saying that from your momma. I am not exaggerating at all Wildnoise, ol pal. I drink my martinis from a glass which I then wash (using very little water) and then reuse over and over. I don't drink them from disposable (biodegradable or not) paper or plastic cups as that would rapidly fill up the local landfill. And I would be quite happy ifn my gin was delivered to me in recyclable plastic instead of wastefull glass containers ( in fact, some is). I, my dear fellow, do as one a my ol pals Ghandi once told me, first, I "wash my own bowl". But hell, ifn it'll make ya any happier, I'll drank it straight from the bottle and then melt the dang thang and make an art piece from it or somethin. Any way ya slice it, ol Pete's mouth is, as my momma used ta say, promisin more than his ass can deliver. :-)

"This competition runs until the 30 September 2008, with the closing date for entries being 23.59.59 British Summer Time (GMT+1 hr) on 26th September 2008, to allow a listening a voting period for late entries. No entries will be accepted as eligible after this closing date." So a little while yet to work on mixes and cast some votes. Sorry for the confusion. :-]

They's also a fella in there (I thank his name is Scat or somethin) who not only records but documents in them notebooks ever bowel movement ol Pete's taken since 1992. Fantastic "Home Studio"! :-) It would be very difficult to me to show my studio. I consider it a very particular place. I really like the idea to have the studio always on. It's true that after 12 switches, waiting for the computer, loading system and software, the "vibe" disappear. I'm thinking to buy a cheap portable computer and to let it always on in my studio. Create your own mix, upload it to the site by the 31st of August, and find out if you've won." So in email they say August 31, but in the official Competition Terms & Conditions they say: "1. I'd spend hours talking about my remixes (like most of us I imagine) but I'm not sure this is the suitable place for it. STM, you may have noticed that for quite some time now, there's loadsa tracks that ain't getting loadsa hits, and, at a guess, I'd say it's mainly when a track resides in the Top Twenty or Hot Pickamundos it, obviously I suppose, then gets loadsa plays. So would you perhaps consider a er, um, Bottom Twenty. All the choons wiv the least, er, airplay would be at the top of the bottom, er, I mean, those tracks that were at the top, er 'ang on. I suggest a new game called 'The Remix of the day' Among the pile of RWR-mixes are many hidden jewels. New-be's have no chance to find them, because there are too many to listen to and there is no hard criteria to find them with the help of the search-button (e. g. due to rating-misbehaviour). And old-be's might like to hear some of the good old tunes again. The funny ones. The strong ones. The brilliant ones. The strange ones. The ones with the crazy comments and, and, and. So: Why not put some of the special songs up the pile? I suggest to make it like this: 1. There is only one song a day. If you are too late and someone did post faster you have to wait until the next day. 2. Dont choose a songs from the actual running year. It's that easy. If you like you can tell why you did choose the one you choose. Might be that there are some stories to be told. In the next post you can see how it could work. Remember: Only one song a day!!!

So I will be placing all the comp remixes, regardless of the er, experts choice, into a hat, that's every single mix, not just the, er, chosen few, and, at the allotted time, and, being blindfolded, I will stick me mitt in and pull out a winner, as I believe that this way, every nobody will have a chance to win this very much sought after item/prize, and on a more personal level, I'd like to discover if my method produces an equally valid winner. I might just add give a comment too! In fact, I would recommend giving a comment first and then rating it 1-5 stars. Five is the best of course. Then add to favorites if you really like it. If you want have this be a choice and pick for yourself towards the competition charts then to the comp. chart like L-D stated. :-) This is a good review for all since it seems there have been so little comments and ratings. That's what makes it the "Wheel to Turn" around here people. Get busy remixing and remarking! You will se remarkable results.:-]

Hail Rolf, I can only assume that you's a chum of César's, or a relative perhaps? This is against the voting rules as family and friends are notoriously biased, hence it's possible that the best man, er, track, might not win a, er, Led Balloon. However, methinks I've found a loophole, keep schtum though. To vote in the competition you need to log-in to the site, then on each remix page you will see a button 'Add to comp chart' Clicking this button adds the remix into a list on your 'remixer page' which you can access from the log-in panel in the side bar. When you are on your 'remixer page' you can drag the tracks up and down in your competition list until you have the remixes in the right order. At the end of the competition we will combine all the charts and a winner will emerge. There ya go Mr Lightyear, I'm gonna buzz off through me wormhole now, be seein' you. :-]
