Remixer Notes

i just had to do it.

so i had this idea the other day of sampling my tabla drums and assembling it in Reason. it worked out really well so i tried it with a few things. then i had the crazy idea of trying it with this song and i wanted to do something different.

so i wrote the tabla parts via MIDI in Pro Tools. then i sampled a harmonium and then recorded some sitar-ish noises from my Variax acoustic.

if you ever saw the American movie Dead Man Walking it is heavily inspired by that soundtrack. please take in mind that i'm not an expert in Indian Classical music by any stretch of the imagination. i just thought it would be fun to do.

Zakir Hussain please forgive me.

This remix needed you for the peaceful ambience. Great.:-) :-) :-)

First time I hear using tablas in this remix. In the background I hear something like a tibetan chant, isn'it? The general atmosphere is very dark and tribal.

I like it very much but I would have listen some minutes more!

Congratulations for your incredible ability in changing styles and adding new "ingredients" in all your remixes' recipes.

I wondre what you're going to create the next one:-)

Just lovin the style difference; the riddim is fantastic. In terms of arrangement however I would have liked an approach that gives more smoothness to the song, preserving the flow. It's the 'all on/all off' thang I don't really like. But bottom line I am inspired with the way you create yr own riddims and I would like to play around with it if u're interested;

STRANGE DRONING IN THE BACK GROUND. DIFFERENT THOUGH.:-) :-)

Very good!

I just think you should make some more cuts and variation in the rythm. Some more build up :-) But that's just a thought:-]

I think the harmonium in the background spoils this. It is too distracting.

The overall mix though is nice and a good idea to use the tablas but as someone said it needs some more variation to get the best out of the tabla sound.

Well done.

At times really beautyful rythm in the background, but i'm really missing some sort of connection between the vocals and the music. I'm not so sure they go together well.

Sorry but not at the level of 'Tear the Building Down. (Drummin Bass Mix)'. Different, creative but, but,but ?? :-(

This remix is so intense.:-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

Hi vox! That harmonium you put here gives a great atmo on this song! (sorry radiotimes) I think it gives a vintage touch specially when the backing voices.

The Idea is really original. Why not trying the "Pastich" of the five one day too? There's still a lot to explore. You're about to reach your own style! Let it all out!:-) :-x :-) :-x
