Remixer Notes
The key to this track, of course, is deciphering the super secret bonus mystery ending. And although we start out all flowers and lollipops by the time we hit the bridge the whole monkey house is partyin' and Peter is King Ape, poundin' his chest and rockin' and rollin'. Of course, I could not have created this opus without the ol wolfman hisself, Jason Tedford and the lovely Ms.s Tiffany Phillips and Barbara Raney (plus Tommy and Josh, bless em). That just leaves ol moi, Doghouse Riley and you dear listener. And lest we forget this entire rave up was suggested by my ol Irish drinkin' buddy, Mel O'Dyne. We do hope you enjoy.
Technical Information
Created in Sonar. Vocals tracked in Audition. Mixed in Digital Performer. Mastered in T-Racks. Using way more stuff than I care to mention or you care to hear. Ain't technology great!
Comments
Love it!
Wow!!
Shock the Monkey meets Motown!!!!
Nice one.
Richard.
This is great! That is the most natural sounding pitch shif of Peter's voice I have heard. What did you use for that?
Never mind. I just got the Mel'O'Dyne joke
Truly an excellent work. Added to my faves and top 10
A breath of fresh air
it's in my top 10
. . . .w00h00!!!!. . . ROFLMAO!!!!!
. . . . .arggghhhhh. . . .I've just deciphered the end!!!!!
Lots of Fun!
Simg
real clever work and very entertaining!
Wow!!
shock the monkey meets sledgehammer. Clever, and cleverly done. Just not to my taste.
ROFLMAO!. Viva Mel-O-Dyne!
What a fun piece!!
thanks to all. You are all so kind. Tell you what, I'll make a deal with all you good folks who're listenin' to our mix. You just keep pattin' ol Doghouse on the head.and he'll keep waggin' his tail.
hahaha this one is greeeaat!
me like
Did you use Melodyne 2 or 3? I noticed you use Digital Performer which probably is more conducive to Melodyne. It's a disaster with Logic. Even as a standalone Melodyne 2 would not interpret the vocal track correctly (tempo-wise). I just gave up and had a friend convert the vocal track to 125 bpm on another software platform. I've heard Melodyne 3 is supposed to have many improvements over version 2.
I gotta mark this as my #1. Not that it's my overall fave, really, in terms of personal style, but it's just so original and well-done and easy to like and seems to fit the vocal and song so well. And you're one of the few to actually add additional vocals, so big bonus points for that. It's just so well done. AND a guitar solo, appropriate for the song - more bonus points. I love the alternating BG / PG vocals over the solo at the end.
wow! I hope that there are a couple of lady monkeys giving it synchronised dancing behind the King Ape!
Of course - if PG ever released a version of this, I would have to burn my back catalogue
Nice sounding enegetic song.
So far to PG kind of music but so Original to say anything wrong !
Lot of fun to listen ; Top ten
Thanx for this great 4 minutes of music
Chris
your crazy; this is extraordinary cool made and very funny! liked it a lot like many others here!
thanks for that, very good.
That's so much fun! Thanks a lot!
Is it an advert for Melodyne?
Incredible result!
Wowsers!
This is completely awesome. At first, I wasn't sure about the "comic" spoken intro, BUT. then the song starts and I'm blown away. In terms of technical achievement and production value, this one is tops. I think that, often times, when people "remix", there's a tendency to go the techno/house/aggro/industrial/ambient route, and this is quite far in the completely opposite direction. I think this puts your mix in amongst the "elite remixers" on this site - those who truly took the track into new and unexpected territories. I really can't say enough good things about this track! Again, the style may not appeal to everyone, but the artistry cannot be denied.
dig it not my stly as i think we must b from way diffrnt generations but well done with pitchshifting etal.
This is the most entertaining mix I've heard of the Monkey song as well as being technically first class.
Well done for putting the fun back in the competition.
It was all getting to serious before this.
Great piece of work technically, performance, edit and mix. Faultless execution. However cant stop seeing images of an animatronic show in disney you know where the one where food starts singing ? So it was hard to take seriously. Fun factor 100% emotional engaement 10%
I reckon listening to this, that if you did a less comical take on the piece it would blow us all away.
Average 2.71
this deserve so much more
Is it all about jalousy or what??????
I hope this comes with instructions for the "Monkey" dance.LOL.too funny.better not win though.LOL Is this from the Curious George movie?
Well done ! your track is really giving some air facing everything i heard here so far (but hey, i'm sure there is a lot of other surprises.) 5 star & top ten !
This is excellent!
4 Stars and add to my favorites looking for top ten. Perfect, great mix
some more brass fella.and this thing is rockin!
Thanks for kind comments i love the way you write with an accent. Is it your VO that kicks this mix off i love the tone, its like Grampa Walton. Be nice if we could chat safely somehow outside the site as id like to know more about Ol Doghouse.
G,Night Jon Boy.
G,night Ellen.
G,night Riley
Thanks for woofing at my mix. Yours has been on my top 10 since I first heard it on the day of your submission. Stunning technical achievement, very musically executed taking the monkey into a happy place.
Mother of God! I love you for doing this! The Motown All Stars in Vegas catch Peter on a drunken night of acceptance.
Love it - have another B-52!
totally cool man!!!
i love . very fun.!!
Me too!
and i love dogs. Put u in my favs and now let's see if you can sit up long enough. Thanks for this, it changed my mood.
very straightforward and fun- 4 stars.
Folks you have made ol Doghouse mighty happy and mighty proud. Into the top twenty at number five! Ol Doghouse thanks each and every one of you from the bottom of his little pea-pickin' heart! Tell ya what. If you let me hang around here for a couple more weeks (maybe even climb a little higher on this ol ladder) ol Doghouse promises not only not to soil the carpet or chew up any of yor shoes, come October he'll rare up on his ol hind legs and balance a dog biscuit on his nose! You guys are great!
Woof Woof Bow Wow grrrrrrrrrrreat!
It's da Muppet Show.
Great fun pro production, and dat's about it.
The ability to paint well doesn't make you a great painter, it's what you paint, not how well.
What I can never understand about muso stuff like dis is, with all this talent on board why can't you go the extra half-mile and make it a world wide smasheroonie.
One way or the other I feel I've heard
it all before.
It's very very good, why not try excellent.
eazy
Hilarious
Quite a brillant job you guys pulled here!
I love it!
cheers
Budy
Oh my.You FUNNY, clever sumbitch! That was minblowing! What'd you use for the pitch-shifting? Most radical remix on the site. You deserve alot of credit.
You are one sick puppy!
Brilliant.
A socially relevant piece of art
Luv the "touch my monkey" backin' vocals.
Those Horns are great where do they come from?
For caml: It was Melodyne Uno.
For number six: Horns were a combination of Korg Triton rack and Roland XV3080.
Doghouse
And for L-D: Actually the ability to paint well DOES make you a great painter. But it DOESN'T make you a great artist. HTH
Ha hah. This one gave everyone I played it to a big smile. Much better than sledgehammer.
haaa. very good! slick and witty. Nice job.
Deserves to win! Really my favourite for it's madness:))
Oh man!!!
Very, very funny. & good!!!!!
good laugh,this one is funny
five stars and a place in my top ten
Crap, there's soda all over my monitor.
Not only is it hilarious, it's soooo well done. Great arrangement, great sounding mix (why in DP?)
But the BV's really do it for me.they help to give it that bizarre 50's/Motown thing, on a Peter Gabriel song no less. Who woulda thunk it.
the most original and entertaining remix I've heard.very refreshing.
it's not "shock the monkey" anymore ( if you define a song by its melody.blah blah blah .)but it's a good new catchy song.
you definitely deserve a place in the top ten of remixers
AWESOME!!!! This is a riot!! You are a creative genius, and not too shabby technically either! Fantastic. We are having fun now!
Thanks. Really needed that.
Yo Dog, I get the impression you'r kinda silly, but if that's what drives you to make mixes like this - don't change! ![:-]](smilies/embarrased.gif)
So when are we going to make the video?
This is HILARIOUS, and the vocal treatments are excellent. Freakin' awesome.
Very clever
LOL!
Never would have thought of that!
ike-ike ja naissu, ka!!
i really love this mix!
cheers!
fantastic originally
Not only original, but I almost hear your version in the original when I listen to it!
Oi you mangy mongrel I don't know why but I feel compelled to foist dis on ya, SMILE by LILY ALLEN.
Not exactly my cup of tea, as in, I wouldn't buy it, but it's a wicked little tune that might not make it across da pond.
Nice blend of sorta, da sixties/eighties meets 21 foist century, wiv it's dub reggae leanings etc.
There's something about the quality of the writing/production that reminds me of your mix, and i reckon you would love da backing track to enter your subconcious, cos i knows you's knows it'll surface one day in your work, the chorus is well wicked too.
http://www.myspace.com/lilymusic
easy deuende er dude
Yeah, you can talk, still sniffing round dem ol'dogs are ya, cheeky mongrel.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KE4HGlmtOcg
Do you know dis sorta stuff me ol' woofter.
Sounds like the Super Furry Animals had a wild part with the B 52's. This is my favorite of the bunch just cos it's so far out beyond the actual piece-but it works.
Weird Al would love this too.
Now we're talkin'!
I worship at the altar of Doghouse Riley. DR did exactly what I was trying to do.except much better. It's the perfect blend of creativity, humor and talent. I want to do my best to make sure "Mr. Gabriel" hears this one.
Omg, Peter's doing cabaret !
5 stars for me !
I like it.
nice job
great job!!
I was always a big fan of Shock the Monkey. You did the song justice!
Holy craaaaap. Way cool.
Is that Slash and/or Tedford on guitar???
Who's missing - nice track
Nah, that's ol Doghouse bendin them strings. He was feelin' mighty ginchy that day. Woof.
Sounds great.hope you win the BIG prize:-
floridafriend
Verry original,superb **** stars
really good remix, very fun
Mr.D.Riley, your talents never cease to amaze me! Very very original stuff. Loved that screaming guitar solo! Mr. Gabriel would be proud. Maybe the 40Watt in ole Athens, GA could book the "Doghouse Riley Experience" for a show! THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKIN' BOUT!!! It'd be sweet!!!
fun and professionnal
GREAT
Well Folks, ol Doghouse is honored and humbled. Two things I don't get to feel too often ifn ya know what I mean and I think ya do. A true and heartfelt thanks to everyone who's supportin me and a SUPER big thank ya also to everyone out there that ain't actin' like a jackass or someone who'd poke a kitten with a stick. Stay strong. Hang tough. And Godfrey-Daniels-on-a-sodacracker, keep yor dang sense of humor (those that has one). Now I know I promised to prance around with a dog biscuit on my nose ifn I got promoted. And I will! I ain't comin off that. In fact, when this is all over, no matter how it turns out, I'll even put on one a them little plaid sweaters when I do it. Lord you don't know how I hate them sweaters! But, hell, you've earned it. May the best mutt win. Woof!
Will I ever get that silly grin out of my face again? Great idea, great production. But are you sure that this still is a RE-mix?
Hahaha!
How very B-52s.
Techincally excellent and hilarious, congratulations.
you made me smile. a very good reason to make music.
Swing Baby swing !
Lovely!
Doghouse once agin your talent is the cream of the crop keep the lifestyle going!!!
bravo Sir , excellent !
hugs to ol Mel
Superb.
Clearly, this "dog" benefitted from being weened on highballs instead of Science Diet. Keep this up and PG will be remixing YOU!
hammeridee , hammerumsetzung
HUAAAAHHH! This is great! I give up. My remix won't be that funny, clean, well performed, new, and remixed as this is. can't stop laug.
I've actually got a better version by Big ol' Bill on an olde blues compilation called Pocket Full of Blues, didn't spot you's lazin' on dat porch though,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wO7yyvYVtQ4
then mosey on down here, now dat's a friggin' brass arrangement groovy strings too.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9RzCB3VRruE
take it easy Duende er dude
Lightnin' slim
c-l-a-s-s-i-c remix :)
hahaha, how we laughed when we heard it for the first time, fantastic effort on the pitch correction / auto tuning work, it sounds very believable and you manage to tell your side of the story/remix flawlessly, I'm not sure how, as an artist, PG would react to the extreme vocal manipulation, I just gotta say 10/10 for originality, one of the coolest mixes we've heard
Check out our version, would love your feedback
cheers and congrats!
wow, that's fun. i think PG will love his vox!
![:-]](smilies/embarrased.gif)
Funny version, shake it shake it baby! Chubby Checker would like it a lot.
2006 is far away!!
Hi,funny work.Good add. Vocals.
Greetings from Josh
GROOVACIOUS!!!! I almost turned it off during the intro - I'm so glad I didn't. It reminds me of small midwestern town bar band, outdoor fish fryin', spill your beer while you dance kind of a thing. Couldn't stop my toes from tappin!
Love nice like tv jingle cool we vote for your remix
Dear Doghouse, the extraordinary thing about your remix for me is: you completely managed to steer the original away from d minor. Most of the others (including me) sooner or later end up with the obvious harmonies around d minor. You gave the whole song a new smile
Just brilliant. wow, very original.
My hat's off to you, sir.
absolutley horendous, terible midi sounds, just destroys all aspects of greatness in the song
The pitch shifting and editing in this is incredible. Very, very clever. Will it win? Maybe not, but it is very accomplished and if you can do that in playful mood, what can you do when you get serious?
FANTASTIC!!!
This is cute and fun, but somewhat far away from the original characteristic style of the piece.
Groovy Baby
This is so fun, so creative, so rocking, so enticing - I'm having a difficult time remembering the original version. Hats (and such)off to you Doghouse! You made my putter flutter.
Right On! Ab-so-lute-ly fantastic! Your sense of humor and creativity are second to none. If PG doesn't appreciate the incredible artistry and talent in this mix, well, it's his loss, I tell ya'!
Hats off to you, big dog!
wasnt sure when i heard the intro, a bit lame perhaps, but once mr gabriel took it away. well great stuff man, good to hear a sense of humour in the music :)
Man, I can't stop smiling.
This is the most far out and unexpected mix I've heard so far.love it!
Yea! Yea!!!!! gran trabajo big
Brilliant, original and fun.
Plus, I love this kind of music.
Got its warm place in my Top 10.
so funny and original !! yessss
Blues Brothers meet PG, just cool
Outstanding.
Bravo!
Nice.
Thanks for cracking me up, and leaving a giggly smile on my face! It's great to hear someone doing the humour angle - and with such aplomb! Wicked.
V
I like it. The added vocals are great and you successfully realized the genre-tweak concept you came up with. You're going on my list which I intend to make public. As a former Digital Performer user, I recognize that fuzzy distortion in the high end. It's why I gave up DP and went to Sonar. In fact, Sean turned me on to your submission here at Real World through the Sonar forum. Do yourself a favor dude and take these great performances and mix them in Sonar. Even a quick, half-assed mix will show you the clear advantage Sonar has as a mixing platform. Make sure to enable 64 bit option when you render the mix if you do this. See you over at the Cakewalk forum.
Mark
Doghouse, after listening to your "mix" (more like an entirely new species), and after reading your great ramblings, I have to say I'm curious as to any other creative work that you do. Any links? When's you next gig?
Let us know.
Well, if ya promise to keep it a secret, just between you and ol Doghouse, I'll tell ya I do a little macrome' and am currently working on a sculpture representing the oppression of the middle class made entirely of Brie and dog kibbles (the mini bite size). Also you may or may not have heard of my large installation saluting the work (mostly in destroying my favorite group) of Yoko Ono in which I've hung a 500 mile long tampon across the Straight of Gibraltor. Plus ol Doghouse notices you have not put me in your favorites which probably means I'm not in yor ol top ten either so who gives a rats ass what you wanna know in the first place, mojo phonic?! Nah, just kiddin. I'll be doin my usual gig at Wembly Stadium for the next beg-a-thon for children or puppies or people who ain't got any better sense than to think they're better'n someone else.
Hey now.down boy. Stop sniffing at my monkey!
Now roll over while I rub your tummy.
****
not for me
FUNNNNNNNYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!
Awsome i really like it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Really Funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fun? I can't stop laughing! Here I am, full of cold, had no sleep, feeling really cr*ppy and sorry for myself - probably not the best time to start listening to other people's mixes. But this has made my day. Straight into my top ten.
Wow !!!!! I love the monkeys sound rock and roll Yea! I vote for this mix
have good monkey day
Bless
Roberto
Great Sounds
Music Rules.
magnifico, hyper positif, et wouahouh !!! les backings !!!!
Isa's Séb.
terrible le son, j'adore !!!
Also from being hilariously funny I have to say this is definitely the most creative approach to remixing this track. The music is great, the quality of the mix etc is great and that intro . hilliarious! Awesome job, top ten pick and 5 stars from me!
I want to throw you a bone!!!!!!!!!
Hey wow, I´d like to monkey around with the girls tooooooo, "Somethings burning.Shock".
I don´t even try to mention how professional this is.
Cheers, Michael
Should have been number one just for being completely uncool and a little cheesy.Very clever although a a little too much General Midi for my taste.Well done for standing out of the crowd Mr Riley.
Look forward to more "Out of the Box" remixes.
Hilarious. "jealousy. or animal rights. or some such thing."
Actual, for real, LOL.
In terms of the engineering and recording, excellent work on the vocal pitch shifting. Pretty impressive, too, that the new backing vocals are probably better recorded than the original PG ones, so hats off.
Wow!
This is really a piece of music that shows something:
You are able to create things out of your own creativiy without being too influenced by the original. Yet integrating the voice wonderfully!
Great work! Thanks!
"Does humor belong in music ??"
(Frank Zappa)
Well, it definitely does! Just Great!
absolutely fabulous !!!!
One of my faves!
Indeed very funny and entertaining.
Nice for a good laugh! Very interesting approach!
Very good production. Increible job.
mmmm, cool taste I find here. Pure Rock, funky, soul. All authentic
I would be grateful if you would remove my valium mix from your favourites as it seems to contradict you view of me thanks.
Cool!!
I loved this and it is well done with a lot of skill but I don't want this to win because it is a joke. Peter Gabriel is a very serious artist. I hope he hears it though because he would probably enjoy it.
It's a cracker! I'd love to hear it with a fatter brass section, but that's no never mind.
hahahahaha
Thanks for taking me back to a time before I was born, I'm guessing about 1962. The only problem is that now I keep imagining Gene Vincent singing this one, like on some of his last Capitol recordings.
very funny !!,
had a good laugh on that and could see the monkeys dance to it ( and PG laugh)
nicely produced and good chorus !
"Monkeying Around" is freakin genius work and amazing use of melodyne! Well deserved 5 stars.
Doghouse,
You crazy! Very entertaining. This is not my style but I applaud your unique and imaginative approach. Nice to see someone has a wheel turning up in their brain unlike some other mindless artists in the top ten.
what's the matter with you lot? This is absolutely appalling minus 5
WOW, i think we've found the winner of the contest!
a very funny version, it turns the original completely
different and original mix. i really have fun with it. 5 stars!
Couldn't avoid to give you 5 stars, even so your begging in the forum to get rated to zero. Outstanding! A pleasure to hear.
This is brilliant.
Better than anything I ever expected to be on here.
I hope you win.
Doghouse thanks, I have a feeling you and i are in similar fields although i also have have a visual element.
It would be nice one day to find out more about you and what you do as its clear your stuff is truly top drawer. But that's of course if you dont start callin me names and promise to get me a phrase book for that southern drawl
great work m8.5 stars
I would give you 5 stars for the excellent and funny work, but I feel it a little bit sacrilegious to the original sense of the song. Perhaps I lack of sense of houmor.
Great remix ! I wish Peter would do it on stage .
Gimme 'The Works' on that hot stuff!
good luck, you deserve recognition for this outstanding mix
This is so cool!!!!!
excellent arrangement!!!!
Love the backing vox, the guitar solo, the brass section, and the devil's message at the end
Five stars
really happy one.keep going on that way.
Whoah there pardy, you's ain't goin' nowhere's, dat's if I's catching your drift correctly.
Ain't it typical of a dirty ol' doggone dog, you goes sniffing round us lot then you mosey on back to your master.
I can understand/hope you're in big demand and have probably got enough on yer plate, er in your doggie bowl, but I did have plans for me and thee, Oh Well.
Anyhow I really 'ope dis ain't da last we's gonna hear of you.
But if it is, au revoir me resovoir dog.
Cop a load of dis,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0kOgTbn47qU
I used to look like Roberto Redford, now look what dat friggin' MONKEY MIX did to me mug.
Also bruv I just got one o' dem olde fangled VCR thingamajigs, so when i transfer to digital I's gonna upload some very wicked and unusual music that I've viddy'd off da box down da years onto YOU TUBE, I got Oh Well of course and then some, trust me my man, you ain't 'eard nuffink yet.
So i assume if i post links on your mix they'll arrive in your mailbox, if not give us a check now and then cos I'll post da links on my latest mix whatever it might be.
I was wrong about da haf-mile I reckon you just got your nose over da line cos it might not be a world wide smasheroonie, but it certainly is one way or the other a surefire hit in more ways than one.
And I ain't no mangy mongrel I's got a pedigree as long as your arm, er leg.
And if I've spouted all dis for nowt and you's staying, watch your butt, make a change from lickin' it I suppose.
Easy me ol' woofer
Good Rock and Roll.Great Work.
Ciao
the best remix for me !!!
full of shit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great imagination and production. Not really my taste, but an absolute original.

Greetings from Vienna,
cm (page 9)
you naughty naughty man. i laugh out loud. right away. really. very good, funny. i like.
only recently returned to this site, love the mixes, this 1 very funny.
Brilliant
Of course it could be and was actually misconstrued for about 'alf a mo'. You were just shutting 'em up by taking the shortest possible route, big up for dat.
No need to explain yourself to me bruv, we speak da same language, er sorta.
You's half-decent and sensitive and that's why your music's half-decent and sesitive, you know da score, nothing gets past you eh.
You just got way too much talent, leave some for us less fortunates eh.
Anyhows, you nearly did it dude, and you's my personal winner and as you well know, dat's da one that really counts.
Later gator.
This is the most outstanding piece of work in the sense of fun I have heard.
Love the humour.
For some reason it reminds me of a cheasey early 70's Saterday night program.
Love it
Woof woof woof bow wow wow woof woof.scratch.WOOOF.
Translation:
Congratulations on the competition.Well deserved.Really.Job well done.
Very anxious to hear what you come up with next.
P.S.Thank you so very very much for your kind words.See you soon!
Oh my gosh, cop a loada dis.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DY1pcEtHI_w
Now ain't dat da most amazin' t'ing you's ever 'eard
Your next mix better include some of dis cats influence, or i ain't playing anymore.
These dudes can produce two tones at the same time, a drone and a whistle.
Groovy banjo sound.
I assume music like this goes back centuries possibly millennia, it makes you wonder what fantastic and unusual music has been lost down the years.
The Aztecs etc used drums, pipes, horns/conch shells, no strings? just imagine the kinda sound hundreds/thousands? of musicians/audience, whacking and blowing, could make, da mind boggles.
Amazing rave up! I couldn't help but doo-bop around my room while this track was playing.
Great job not only creating something fresh, but really imbuing the song with a totally different kind of vibe and doing so well!
FANTASTIC JOB !
Great great great .
TOTAL RESPECT!
Wow I'm impressed, like I said nowt gets past you eh.
I lifted that clip about 15 years ago from a doc about Tuva, I can sorta sing it a bit, it really is quite catchy, not da whistling though.
Just joshing about MJ, dat geezer wiv da sideburns, is Ray Dorset the writer, I thought he looks like dat cos of doin' a Monkey Mix.
Dis is Monkey Japan stylie
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6EZWEWHH1Y
Gaz outa Supergrass is also a similar simian.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rUksQFHT4I
Dat was my finkin' behind mon humour, hmmm.
Anyhows, check dis out,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWEpnHZ9XFE
Baka Rainforest Yodellers, again, makes me wonder what freaky stuff has been lost down the centuries.
Seeing as your missus is curious about me mug, dis is a film of me playing my Yamamoto sinfulsizer, while finishing off me Monkey mix in da REAL WORLD studios,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NwGP70bYr6U
And as you's been a good ol' boy, here's two bonus tracks.
First up I spotted you playing your Tele a few years back
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PojMzsIvVE8
boy, do you know your onions or what.
And dis Chilli track is about 12 years old
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_THEC6hbnI
wicked stuff.
Supergrass's Alright, and MJ's Summertime are really great fun, but also cool and simian er similar but different, you should check out Supergrass they got some er, super tracks, great little outfit, got signed real young, 'bout 10/12 years ago, they refuse to mime and always play live on da box.
Easy dog'ouse
It's the most fun of the bunch, and I woulda left the announcer out at the top. This one took the song back into 70s pop in its way.
Is it Elvis P. back again? Do not like this version.
Refreshing option of this great song, I am listen it with a great smile in my face
congrats!
Alvaro,
Santiago, Chile
Wow. That's inventive. Fun too.
The absolute best 3:19 of music. how creative. how imaginative. very entertaining. SO glad to hear. I for one am SO tired of these "trance-house-hip-hop-DJ" remixes.
What a breath of fresh air. I'm quite surprised Peter didn't pick this one as the winner, but the purists would've complained, and at least you did get an honorable mention. on VIDEO no less. tha's a great resume builder mate.
Keep up the good work Master Riley.
Hi Doghouse hope you are well. You need to go to `Edit your log in details' and switch on to accept PM messages then we can have a chat about which movies you have'nt seen lately. My favourites for quite some time were, No return of the Jedi, Castaway, and The Postman always rings twice, (although not lately as our bell is broke). I did get Deliverance the other day though and nearly squwealed like a pig.
I can't believe the relatively low rating this remix has received so far. For me it's the most exciting and musically intelligent one out there, including the intelligent use of pitch-shifting on PG's vox to complement the new chord structure you have built. The BVs are also well thought out and complementory.
For me, humbly, this is the winner. Congratulations my friend!
Super - among the winner and other 2 I heard, I really find this one just different and puts me well in my mind. Even though, personally, I would loved to listen from someone a really great "house" shock the monkey remix.
But I am not a musician or what ever, just try to sing some of Peter´s musics.
Wow - The Muppets do Shock the Monkey! This is brilliant, and exactly why god invented remixes.
Absolutely brilliant. Jay
Riley, if I were a bitch I would gladly birth your puppies and make all 8 nipples available in the hopes they'd get enough nourishment to make their doggie brains fire on all synapses so they could grow up to be just like you. You have streamed your claim on the hydrant of creativity. Atta boy!
Ok Doghouse I'm starting to see where you're coming from. You may have even invented a new type of remix - the "postmodern remix", maybe. It's still freaking me out a bit, but you know, I grew up in the 80s, what can I say? Back then a bit of delay on the vocal seemed radical.
Still respecting your Melodyning skills.
hey - i would like to make a comment - very much on this side

Who could not like this mix!!!!

"Monkey-Act" Part 1. Is this Whoopie Goldberg singing in the background choir? I laughed out loud when I heared it for the first time. I really enjoyed it! Great idea!!
You guys must have a lot of fun I suppose. Party on!
