Remixer Notes

Remix fait de manière ludique, dans un genre électro-pop, parti des voix sans connaitre la version originale (comme avec mon précédent remix de "Shock the monkey"), ce qui évite d'être inconsciemment orienté.

La version n'a donc plus grand chose à voir avec la version d'origine.

Technical Information

Pour la batterie, j'ai voulu un truc un peu Dance, programmé avec Battery, sur lequel j'ai ajouté une batterie "acoustique" programmée sur EZDrummer.

Niveau synthés, les petits gimmicks rigolos sont fait avec Arturia Minimoog, les sons d'ambiances "dark" plutôt avec Absynth4.

Ensuite, pleins d'autres choses, l'orgue du début c'est un program du Trinity par exemple. Il y a également sur le refrain du Moog Modular, passé dans un filtre de Cubase SX3, entre autre.

C'est marrant, mais Ã chaque fois que je termine mon ouvrage et que je vais Ã©couter la version originale, ou mÃªme les autres remixes, je trouve ce que j'ai fait pas terrible.complexe d'infÃ©rioritÃ© peut-Ãªtre.

Puis quand je lis les commentaires, je commence seulement Ã voir les cÃ´tÃ©s positifs de mon truc.

Faut dire que c'est quand mÃªme Peter Gabriel sur quoi on s'attaque.Peeeeeeeeeeete, l'archange ! Notre maitre Ã tous ! On n'est pas digne ! On est Ã chier !.hum.pardon.

I like this bcos it is a very 'listenable' mix: - it just seems to work as a whole idea. But I can't believe that this mix was done without at least some refernce to the original track? (surely you can't get this close to the original structure of the song without having heard the actual original at least once??!!) I also liked it bcos it has a good production quality to it (apart from the string and drums at 3:39 which are fully exposed and hung out to dry when PG's vocals drop out!)- but never-the-less a strong contender for inclusion in a mainstream PG remix compilation, no? :-)
