Loveshadow's Favourite List

Loveshadow Comments on Other's Remixes

Love It. Lots of little electro touches throughout. It all works for me. Bitly makes me laugh. Unless he can actually name the synth and the actual chip they used on the main printed circuit board he doesn't like something :-)

I am glad i came back to listen to this its a hot one. That move around 1.36 with the changing chords and bass line could have easily been brought back as its sweet.

There is no distortion i can hear. People are mistaking `saw' sounds for overload. Nice.

Probably one of the better efforts i have listened too, not radical but interesting.

Cute and sparse but like the original with half the faders down.

On its way but waiting in the station.

Interesting stuff. Cant see it being the first dance at anyones wedding, but the one country i have never visited is Albania so cant really be sure.

Not bad.

Is this a remix or the orignal. I am old and confused dont hate ! :-]

You managed to get this sounding more like Talk Talk than the original tried to, so sort of well done.

I like the bit with the kitchen sink the best.

Over three years ago. Where has the time gone.

This is a pretty awful vocal and anyone that can make it sound half decent as you have done deserves a hotpick. !

The best remix of this i have heard so far. But ive only listend to two. :-)

@AscRecords. Cuckoo Clocks are from Switzerland. Too subtle perhaps. ?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Switzerland_during_the_World_Wars

`So they say' is a reference to the title of this mix. Do you do anagrams by any chance.?

aah what fun. those were the days. :-]

I still love the drop back at 1.30

No other remixer that signed up for this site has the skill, vision or ability to bring this type of mix off.

And nearly 3 years on yea , i can still say, it should have been Ed Picked.:-)

After all this time your stuff is still just Fucking Shit hot !!!

Haters Walk On :-]

:-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

I hope your skin is getting thicker. :-)

Thanks for taking these random stems, collecting them and giving them a purpose.

Uniquely Done. :-)

yea man, this is well cool.:-]

This is pretty good , well done. :-)

Well done HM, you found a deeper connection and turned the narrative on its head.

Very Nicely done.

I like how you have used the whistles here as a new motif.

Spin Backs made me smile though. :-]

Hey you won !.thats one better than me OXXO :-)

I liked your mix, really well done.

One of the issues i have with Realworld is the continuing insistence on delivering mix packs in foreign languages without any attempt to give us the meaning of those words as if they think they do not matter as to the mood and reinterpretation of a remix. I don't think a re mixer should have to do the research when the artist is on their label.

So with so many mixes on this site that are lyrically a mystery i have not one clue as to what you have done here is in keeping with what's being said or not.

So aside from that, as always you have created an evolving and interesting picture which sonically has some varied colours and plainly your mixing skills are always increasing.

But again as to whether it all means anything to the lyrics or adds any emotion to them well then its impossible to tell.

:-)

Brilliant stuff.

Inventive and Original. :-)

By the way shes singing in Fwench not French :-)

Shras nice to hear you again.

Nice destruction of the original although there seems to somethin happening to this file that is skipping and dropping out.

I imagine it might be part of the mix if it is then its not working for me as it upsets the 4 to the floor but nice to hear you. :-)

Not a bad mix.

But a bit to close too the original for me

and that must be the biggest set of notes on this site :-)

Hey i like this. Like Andreas said its the first one that does not sound like the original.

This one sounds like the Daleks are attacking the Corrs. ( perhaps adjust the grain setting in Ableton :-) )

But anyhow its an effective remix .

Really great mix OXXO, agree with colabs comments , a great re - arrangement of the elements which flowed together really well.

Has a live performance feel about it. Nice alternate timing of the drum rolls punctuate the flow.

Should have had a hot-pick on this one.

Excellent mix , one of the best of this pack, Very hooky.

You have created a nice sample pack here.

Its very close to the original but sounds cool.

Not a bad effort, some of the levels are a bit loud and the swing beat runs aginst the vocal at times but overall its a nice vibe.

Very very good. I listend all the way through which is a good sign for me.

Had me thinking it was John and Yoko by the end.

Nice work Miss 1214:-)

Outstanding should have been a hotpick, what were they thinking.

The glich work on the synths is very cool and is perfectly in line with the original Effected vocal sound.

Gabriel details in the sounds put it nicely in line with his style without over use of his vocal which is a feature of nearly every other mix including mine of this track.

Nice HM

Well from what i can see there have only ever been two hot picks of this track.

( for all i know there maybe only 3 mixes in total including this one )

This is equally as good as one of them and definately better than the other.

:-)

Nicely done, you took a difficult original and made it your own. :-)

At last something worthy of a Hot Pick.

Max - Did It - Well

:-)

Not a bad mix, a little more thought and interest around the breakdowns would have made it fly . But a nice placement of the vocals.

Not a bad mix Mr Shras'ssss, even though that `Yaa' screaming woman sample really got on my nerves.

There is a bit of gap in what T4F would have achieved and this but its a nice idea and good to hear you again. :-)

Well what can i say, could have been done in Doghouses backyard. See forums. Interesting aural assault. :-)

Like it HM.

Think you just about get away with some of the chord choices, perhaps a slight more fill with something in the voids at the start so its not all on the downbeat.

But definately one of the better mixes on here of late.:-)

Hey its the comeback kid. Never say never.

a very David Sylvian take on it. Nice

Nice to see you have the stamina to keep mixing these packs. I really like the breakdown section at 3.20 ish and the rebuild.

:-)

In short i was surprised.

Classy arrangement.

Classy remix.

Liked it a lot.

:-)

Great mix. It sounds simple but you have thought a lot about keys and kept it interesting throughout.

Like it a lot.

:-)

As i said its just my view and i repeat you made a good track. You dont need to think they pressed the wrong button it was their choice and they heard something in your mix to warrant that choice so you are right to feel good about it.

I hope you continue and have a go at the other packs. :-) :-)

Well this is not your fault but i dont see this as a hot pick.

Your sound palette is fine and the production of your mix solid. However as this site seems bent on refusing mixes that have little relation or signature of the original or question additional work then i am at a loss as to what this is.

I take your word that all the sounds are from the pack, however its unclear, so as a listener i cant relate to it as a remix. As a new derivitive work its good, as a remix for me its questionable ( and once again thats not your fault)

I know you posted in the forum for the delay maybe thats what they were considering, perhaps the editorial view is now softer, forgiving or more needy.

As a track you got a real punchy sound but it did not engage me in any way one of the reasons maybe why i never did this mix pack.

You did it good kid !

Like your filter / pan work here it gives it that little twist to the groove.:-)

It has wings Pegasus :-)

Yes Lee it is and it was so it should not.

The first 46 secs are truly outstanding the rest is rubbish :-)

You just get better and better no other way to say it. :-)

Superb backing track, 1.06 on with the right vocals it would be an outstanding groove.

LS:-)

Breaking The silence, better than wind.

:-)

I am sure shras would not give you just a one star so it looks like you are the victim of the old zero raters, here.

Does no one on this site ever pay attention ?

Any way a cool mix. It actually surprised me in its drive and simplicty that reflects the orignal vibe.

Liked it . Will put a five on it but it wont rescue your average.

I dont think possibly it matters to you whose vocal you had on this as old big eyes seems secondary to your musical exploration.

That is interesting on its own but found it hard to connect to.

You You Does Devo. A Catchy little bit of fluff

:-) :-( X-{ :-] :O= :-x :-) :-( X-{ :-] :O= :-x :-) :-( X-{ :-] :O= :-x

I like the mood i would have liked a full drop back possibly pre the build big brass build.

Love the `Oooo' sections. But overall a great effort :-)

LS

Have RW sent you a Gold watch yet ? :-)

I can see how you would want to mix in Vegas its such a dull place to have visit.

I feels like a bit of sketch, an interlude between the slots perhaps :-)

I would not bet on it winning any prizes but nice for a travelling companion. :-)

Yes very pleasant

its harvest festival time down in box too busy probably to see it was that good.

EZs great aint it :-)

LS *****

I missed this mix a while back and only just found it. Really nice. It has a temple chant religeous quality about it and the warm piano is very womb like.

five stars is good at any time though i expect.

:-)

Maxwell i think you have to confront your feminine side soppy is a very defensive word in description of a mix that has a lot of thought and cool emotion :-)

its just music and this is a great mix. The vocals seem a bit edgy for the quality of your backing but that's all.

Agree with Colab, it would make a great original track with the right vocal. :-)

Like this a lot. It really works the only down point is that its a bit respectable.

I was waiting for a face melter as Jack Black would say. I might revisit this pack and try something like this .

Nice work GN :-)

This is great, nice to see another side of you.

There's a lot of superb work in here, Great vocal edits and arrangement. A hotpick as far as i am concerned. Probably the RW trolls are to young too to remember all this, as i am of course.

:-)

Before anyone else misreads the notes it was not uploaded `because' of what was said but because i stopped to think about it. Then i moved onto other things and forgot about it.

So you see no one dissuaded me as its here. So Ess i know you never said that, Colab thanks as always and Maxwell its Xphrase with a sound bank of my own design, a very useful tool for throwing in the unusual but not an easy VST to use.

:-)

Its a nice version but.

What is missed here is the realtionship of any of the vocal melody woven into your new score. A simple instrument countering or reflecting Sevara would pull it all together.

While set in the tonal/atonal setting it all fits but fails to feel cohesive.

Its not a critical element as to your ability but i feel a lot of mixes of this vocal have just made it fit where it is in fact a delicate moving to emotional delivery about a very sensitive story.

You should not have to understand the words to hear what she is feeling.

****

LS

I knew i would like this after two seconds of the intro.

I will give you five for a beautifully produced track but feel like taking one off ( but wont )for listing your own track in your own favourites .

Very uncool.

LS

hey nice to see you back here.

Sounds like you had some fun with this.

Nice version why its almost commercial you are going soft.:-)

LS

I like this a lot i am not sure about the rock opera at the end as your simple church-like setting was working so well.

I am at the stage of rejecting this vocal as i have heard it so many times now but i stayed to listen to your version. If you had kept the simplicy i would have given a full vote

but hey its just a star.:-)

Well lets keep it real shall we, sure you have had some votes from people who know you and why not. But equally from those that don't.

So you do yourself a disservice in saying you have not evolved as a mixer as 18 months ago there abouts you could not do any of this .

It remains a testament to the statement/question

` anyone can do this right ? ' you made a long time ago.

Here I said pan the vox a bit but it was you who had to do it.

I mean back then you thought pans were for cooking the veg in :-)

I really like your work here, its a great idea to thow in two sections and you do the transition really well. However the parts are equally good enough to have developed full mixes that stayed in either style.

So i feel kind of short changed that the Floydy part didnt end or the eltro part didnt start.

Still. oil giv it foive coz its good.

LS :-)

Well i dont often praise my own work but now the dissection has died down i can say that i love this and Sevaras voice on it.

And when i look at that picture of her up there i feel like brushing that geisha hair back looking into those massive black pearl eyes and giving her a knee trembler kiss that would make her ancestors swoon.

So when your ready Sev :-]

For me a lot of mixes have failed to introduce anything new to the vocals either in treatment or positioning not even retiming them.

There have been some great music beds content to have Sevara intact.

This is one mix that would have been ready for such a treatment.

The vocals are 50 % and more in some cases of a mix and deserve as much consideration as the effort you have put into your great music bed.

LS

A harder drum track would kick this into touch, feels like everything is building but the drums are not.

The tempo increase makes the vox a bit rushed in places and she sounds a bit sweet against your moody backing.

But one of the more successful mixes of this pack for me recently.

LS :-)

one word: Reverb.

two words: too much

three words: really good start

LS :-)

What i find more interesting is that when you hear a piece like my `Love theme, you can say the vocals are `jarring' where melodically there are only two spots where the semi tone delivery takes them out, and yet there are a lot of areas in this where the vocals are disconnected to the music and you cant hear it.

It's not a critism more a perception. I do not think an angular atonal delivery makes up for what i think has become a difficult vocal to fully interpret and re evaluate.

On another level i always love your work and would love to hear you expand your horizons and partner with some more fitting vocals. I know they are out there.

Perhaps then the circle may be more complete.

LS

The last bit of my comment didnt appear for some reason and that was :

Movie trivia note here the exteriors were filmed at a place called Ettington Hall and i have stayed there a few times. They have done nicely on the legacy of the film and it is a chilling place to be.

Thanks for the mix and the recall.

Sleep tight it knows ime here.

:-)

There is a Robert Wise film , The Haunting made in 1963 ( not the lame 90s version ) which is a genuinely frightening film made so by the amazing soundtrack and audio work. The film was listed in the top 100 scariest film moments.

Whilst i dont imagine it was entirely your design, there are similar moments in this that create the same sound effect.

The backing coming in ahead and louder than the lead makes you listen to one side whilst Sevara appears behind you but quieter and seemingly whispering.

The film was also clever in that is used split screen focussing and infrared and ever since a kid i have loved it.

Your mix is kind of spookey and very different in the same way.

The trailer here is pretty tame http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xq74oz6mf3w&mode=related

I think its ok.

This is the ground of people like DJ Mark Farina and if you are going to enter it you had better come up with something special.

All this glitchy itchy scratchy echoey stuff wears thin unless there is something new with an original core.

You are the first to cut up bits and dub them and not use the full song so that is its redeeming feature

Interesting but has no emotional content for me. perhaps some more attention to the vocals would raise the game.

There are pad settings in Vsts that will loop like this on their own so while they sound great to listen to it all seems like a one chord special.

Maybe i am missing the point and as you say its preview so it will be interesting if you develop it any further.

Another Colab signature sound.

The let down for me is the drum loop on the beat. When that goes its far more interesting perhaps it feels too regular in the angular timing of everything else.

And this vocal is crispy. It has digital pops and artifacts in the sample. It needs a little beating.

:-)

I think these vox and the scale continue to get a lot more technical attention rather than the mood of the overall mix.

I am with AT i kind of forgot the original and fully understand the sadness aspect and the form of the backing.

If anything they are very loud and perhaps `in your face ' the pitch change being the first thing you have to contend with.

Great solitude in what you have done though, like this guy is locked away languishing in some war time prison.

Now i need to go listen to some disco :-)

I love what you have done here . The sounds and your playing are just fine.

My difficulty with it is going double time with the drums. It all goes too C&W for me.

Staying with that opening plodding bass drum it has a Fleetwood Mac feel.

Nice recording of that bit of wood :-)

I never left but came back recently to mix on this site after another mixer convinced me to do so.

Today i see this mix is hit with 2 zero rates. What a shame that this childish behaviour is still allowed to go on here unchecked whilst others are enthusiastic and supportive.

Does someone really think a zero rate makes the least bit of difference to me after all this time.

I have mixes on CC Mixter and over there you are notified by who and how much a mix is rated by email. A simple system that stops this lame attitude.

Come on RW it might be just fun but tidy up please.

I love the piano parts reminded me of Eltons Funeral for Friend but found the drop backs a bit distracting.

There are some deep emotions and colours in parts and i admire your departure to go underground.

:-)

Its got a Human League quality about it.

IMHO The synth you added at 2.15 kicks this mix along and you could have hung the entire mix off it but you dont come back to it.

You get a fab sound, impressed as always.

Went to you film link but could not work out which one was yours

LS

I think your musical talent is evident as always here.

More than the vocal delivery, I am not sure the melancholic works with the male lines as he is out for getting laid and it makes him sound a little regretful. Elizas sound wonderful.

I Like the solo, like i said when we did the Enos mix you have got it , so flaunt it .

Nice to see you back here :-)

After all these tight mixes, I bet you can't dance G.

:-] :-] :-]

Going back over mixes i missed while on vacation.

This is just great. Many might get this but its very Al Jerreau, from the 86, L is for lover period an album i played to death.

And just to say i have not forgot about the other track.

With that i can see a pattern emerging in your style. Tasty. :-)

feelin it big time

:-)

I don't get this site some times. The request was to mix this track with an out of the box original feel.

And yet the tracks that have been hotpicked and very good many of them are too, are reasonably conventional.

And here is something that fits the bill and is over looked .

I had to go recreate the chord change at 1.14 for myself coz i love it.

There are level issues but so what . For me its like French downtempo fused with Genesis/lamb samples.

One of my fav mixes of this pack so far as it fits the brief.

:-)

Why i like this is that you have chosen a purpose to your mix and you have added your perfomance and made soem entertainment.

So many mixes seem to be coming online that feel like lab experiments, glitchy , scratchy, drones with a collection of modules wired for effect. Often the vocals have little to do with the backing track. Only a few have anything new.

There is also recently an obsession with technique, a snare drum or brass sound or something and little reflection on the emotion of mix.

So top marks of starting with a plan to produce and achieveing it.

Your atmosphere and vocals are fine . Thanks for spending the time to do it.

:-)

The teabags were just a bit too much for me.

Its a great direction but a bit of an overload and sounds like a bit of demon to keep under control.

Phat sound though. :-)

Hey RT i just tried to load your mix page to count up how many you were at and it just took too long .

Lets call it 300. Gauld help you if they ever close the site down you will have to leave the house at some point.

See you took the easy way out in dealing with the Arabic scale and kept to a single note, cant go wrong there eh. i

Nice job here only thing and have said it before for me is the vocal /reverb dry balance as it gets a bit bathroom.

Still great though that you keep working these mixes over here.

:-) LS

Fab version. Your production is spot on.

Very impressed.

LS:-)

Forgot to say :

This is just so ahead of the original and an LS hotpick :-)

I am just so into this track.

There are not many things on this site i wish i had made but this is one of them.

want it, want it, want it.

LS

Like it a lot AT.

Would love to know exactly what she is saying,

Shes probably talking about shopping and washing up which make this mix well surreal.

And for anyone reading this, no i dont want or need a translation as it just dont matter. :-)

Shit hot Brilliant .

LS

Sevs lost a bit, but i love the groove on this take

LS

The best thing you,ve done. Everything works.

LS

My Favourite bit is where the Donkey comes in at 2 min.

Different mix for you but Phat Pat.

LS:-)

Thanks for all you kind comments yet again, still nice to see and it still makes a differnce.

Also made better these days by the people whom i have had the chance to listen to their original work and see on other sites.

You dont need to leave or stay, its a playground to be enjoyed and i am sure RW are somehow grateful for the link back here that so many have planted across the net.

:-)

What i like about what you do is you have a strong image of your own sound and are also able to convey it verbally.

Besides you saying it, I sense that you get great joy out making your music.

Whilst i am someone who believes we should be mixing everywhere on the net that gives us an opportunity and have no intention of leaving or staying only at RW, i think there is a wealth of mix material out there that might help you grow.

Very Nice

LS:-)

.ti evol

I am glad you came to say hello as i would have missed this mix.

Just great. Pro tools always to have seems has this depth.

The underscore is very Jeff Lorber but with your arrangment you sent it higher.

Top drawer stuff.

Been to Oakland once sad to say i missed Yoshis

:-)

You just got it going on here Maxwell.

The mix is fantastic. So well engineered.

:-)

Wer auf den Wind achtet, der säet nicht;

wer auf die Wolken siehet, der erntet nicht.

Now Let me guess which bits Spin did er.

Big Big Big sound and a very cool remix.

Fantastic colab effort well done to every one involved.

How did you share the wine ?

:-)

I glad you posted this as i had not seen your other mix to see you had come out of hiding.

Only one word needed ( well two actually )

Respect I

:-)

I have not got enough good words for this mix.

Hauntingly beautiful and a valuable addition to this site

Outstanding *****

:-)

Actually i was going to say that too, but i am far to polite.

Like we say in the UK , I blame Christopher Columbus .:-)

I love the fact you are getting so much value out of your mixes but maybe this will help ?

http://tarmo.fi/blog/2006/12/19/getting-people-addicted-to-your-web-site/

:-)

Not to sure if you have posted the mix outside of the site but i think thats a no no.

But on the upload quality i agree:

:-)

http://www.realworldremixed.com/forums_list_thread.php?parent_id=197405

It feels like it has had the dynamics compressed out of it and that is perhaps why the definition has been lost on a lot of your central motifs. You so many cymbals maybe pushing the core down.

But i liked it a lot.

Bourne Goes to Delhi. Very cool :-)

I think i can see why you left it on the drive as its not your best effort as Basement Jam nailed the Colab colours to the wall with Salala for me.

I am grateful you put it up though. I have few more bits i have and i am doing the same with and its good to let them go in whatever form.

You have developed a really definitive sound over time and Comfort Zone showed that you can take it anywhere. Nice

:-)

Who ever has voted this less than five needs to take a long look in the mirror.

For me the best mix of this to date. Too many have taken the vocals and stuck it onto a set of repeating or predictable chords or added some clever part that is showy or counter to the mood.

You have flowed and been sensitive to the story in the choice of sound colour and created a deep emotion with the low bass moves.

The fast panning on the vox gets a bit much if you listen on headphones and a more variable treatment of the vox might have been nice.

It might not be out of the box but for me it just works.

Top drawer stuff. :-)

Well done. It's a big step putting your first mix online, this is good and i hope you learnt a lot in the process.

Now you have the vocals pasted in it's easy to copy your file and throw another load of sound and beats at it.

Go on you know you want to :-)

Suitable soundtrack for The final heat of the `Dad Dancer of the year' competition.

Go on, get them elbows out there :-)

The freakiest mix i have heard in a long time to stick these two styles together, tottally off the wall but its great. :-)

brilliant .:-)

Loved it to bits

Who is Sylvia O . Give her to me Now. PM me and let me know.

Thats gotta be fifty by now is'nt it ?

I am with Susy ,( i dont mean actually with her ) bit it should be a hotpick

:-) :-)

Hi there, have just listened and the above mix is playing too slow. Ill try to get it changed.

LS

Well now we have, for the first time, the ability to make a direct comparison to what could have been and what is, as the Salala remixes have been done Junior Vasquez ( see the forum )

The official release is a club mix. This mix in my opinion out classes vasquezs' attempts in every move. It also keeps a strong focus on the child theme of Kidjos lyric something the vasquez has abandoned for cheap predictable triggered vocal tricks, and sampled beats.

The draw of this competition was a release, if a club mix was needed then this was it.

Shame on Kidjos label for not respecting and supporting the great work and time many people put into this comp and sadness for not a least placing one RW mix alongside the Vasquez mixes. How hard would that have been ?

By comparison its a winner George. :-)

You got it sounding like early Fleetwood Mac, very cool.

Ill have to write about this one in my book ;-)

Nice job LS :-)

Thought id left a comment on this but just ran thru the list to see i had not.

Great mix of this track, the vocal prescence/balance is really good, and the lazy feel really works

Nice one LS :-)

Great sound Multi, nice to see you mixing something out of the comp zone.

Some very strong theatrical touches and colours liked it a lot.

LS :-)

You are a master at vocal manipulation / arrangement and to do it this well you need a broad understanding of what to do with it all in the first place. And this shows ya got it.( as if we did'nt know). Happy Fourth

Just freakin great.it sounds like poetry to me. :-)

Breakin' down the walls of heartache, baby

I'm a carpenter of love and affection

Breakin' down the walls of heartache, baby

Got to tear down all the loneliness and tears

and build you up a house of love.

Yeah!

Outstanding production / arrangement.

Love it. 451 rules, i have a few. :-)

Heading on up to 50 mixes now having crossed the 40 barrier. I think its a level 42.( Count that is not style. )

First again onto the site with a new pack. Well done.

Your a hard act to follow RT. :-)

Nice idea.

Nice Backing track DJR-Kod

Nice translation Wildnoise ?

Nice Arrangement Tethia

Nice Mix

but a Powerful and Important message.

LS

For me the late Arif Mardin was one of the greatest producers of all time.

I see Spin hooked you up to my Aint NO Chaka Mix. but another great production Pat.

The chord change at 1.25 reminded me of Dolce Vita, for me one of the first and best big Euro dance disco tunes.

A Fat Top Job. :-)

Well where the hell have you been, I sent you a message via Myspace a while back dont know if you have ever got it but nice to see you on here again giving us the chance to hear your stff.

Love this mix. We are in a minority here when we do a commercial, no frills commercial radio track.

I mean where is the art luvvy ? :-)

But i will put five on it. LS

With the greatest respect to the other winners this is the one accolade i am so pleased to see.

To me it represents not only your great mixes but the work you put in to help others here and the time you have spent in building the AMtheory site and in devloping your remix blog.

The latter which is fast becoming a central point of info for the remix community .

Really, Really well done

LS :-)

Well Shcras i had you down for `sex and drugs' as i love that mix in the Sala comp , but knocked out that you won this.

The quality of your stuff is always top drawer and it was just a matter of time before someone else saw it.

LS :-)

I like the notion and image of you being as exited as you say for winning this and sharing it with your familiy .

It's what it all about.nice one OXXO

LS :-)

As if your C.V. was not long enough ? :-)

Well done for ALL your mixes, not just this one

LS:-)

Its a good job Kylie Minogue is not judging at this place as you wouldnt stand chance :-)

But very Well done again.

LS :-)

i can hear you now, i couldnt before,:-)

As Punchy as boxer, I wonder what you would have written to this groove, be nice to see or should i say hear. :-)

Very very cool. Great to see you doing something like this.

I love the centre section , as when ever i have been on that coast road the mist always comes in around Carmel.

I will go now listen to the instru, very nice.LS

I really like this. Those brassy chords in the background could have gone through the whole of this mix as they are very signature and you could have used them on the chorus. They disaapear altoghter by the end.

Its gets a little complex at times to follow but a very original mix. Nice :-)

I said i would not have Hernine in my charts and heres why. In my humble opinion he is just too f*ing.good.

I have heard many of his original works and quite honestly i feel its a priveliege to have him spend some time on material here to give us another mix to listen too.

A fabulous modern sound with tricks and twists that add to the mix that are never there to show off but build and add to the emotion.

I wish you continued success in whatever you do and i am still waiting for the postman. :-] :-)

I think there is about 25 seconds of remix pack

( does that make this a remix ? )and the rest is a very easy jam for you M.C.cello.

Sort of thing the drummer kicks off when you are trying to get band to practice the number and end up having to shout over them to stop :-)

Interestingly the colours at 3.58 are where this mix works best for me freeform and flowing literally.

I know you are aiming at a different flavour but still would have loved you to play your banjo on this. After all if you have got it flaunt it.

Beautiful and skillfully made as ever, and nice to see you back up here.

PS I voted on your site let me know how you got on

LS:-)

really effective Joi esque mix. :-)

I think RT gets more out of these packs then anyone in that the vox are the inspiration for a new idea. There is the bed of a nice work here. Take off the vox and it still works.

More and more mixes are reshaping the music and leaving the mix pack behind, me included, maybe its time to either lay down some guidlines for a remix competition or scrap the music as `remix' concept altogether. Perhaps just leave it open and have this, interesting layers of audio, that you can enjoy just as a piece of music.

Makes ya think dont it :-)

Interesting how you get better grades for making it shorter ??

But commented on your last and think as you says, its an edit.

I hope people stay long enough to get thru the Simbas Return to Pride Rock trailer and reach 1.20 and Sister Act 3.

Very Nice Mix.:-)

I am glad you got your mix approved .

If at first you dont succeed well you know the rest.

I said on the Joes mix not long back that this mix pack needs a few other bits and you supplied them.

You made the tune your own with your vocals and created a good piece of entertainment.

So well done, after all its just a bit of fun here isnt it ?????:-)

I have always found this song an odd setiing a happy tune in a minor setting. This pushes it more into the sad zone and makes the lyric more ironical.

It shows off the original chord pattern well and some of the new chords free up the original form.

Its sublety has been overlooked and should of imho been a hotpick. Classy Mix .:-)

I think Joi will like this . It is one of the best uses of the core sample pack with a mimimum of added work with the beats. But you make it your own , really good.

If there was one thing that i often hear with your finished mixes is a lack of brightness in the final mix as if the tops been rolled off.

Its all small tech point and a preference but does not take anything away from your work. :-)

A stunningly beautiful and emotional mix

A white hot Loveshadow hot pick.

Your notes are a credit to your heart and you now have a mix with heart to match it.

Loveshadow :-)

Interesting mix, but its under the wrong mix pack heading so no one can add it to their competition chart even if they wanted to . :-)

Techno Dub. i think you have just invented a new genre.

I have become a Sammlung fan over the past few weeks as you always have something different to offer

Cool Mix ,Nice :-)

Now you have got it going on here.

Great remix :-)

Great version I love it. Could do with some attention to overall vocal plan and sound .

But a great version all the same. :-)

Very Poppy and nicely done .

Theres some great pauses and twistes and it sounds like you had a lot of fun making it.

:-)

This is great why have more people not been here. ?

I felt the chorus got a bit to real if you follow and ended in that vibe when the opening groove was so good.

Is very Prince not to sure if you are playing stuff or its a sample based job but nice. :-)

Great arrangement and use of the vocals, moving in an out of the 12/8 to a jazzy riff very nice.

Probably one mix that uses the majority of the sample pack.

very well done

:-)

I forgot to mention that you should go listen to YouYou's stuff on his own site. Address on his mixer page.

There are some great tunes on there.:-)

A crazy inspired mix and whats more you can skip to it Double Dutch:-)

Great departure from your other stuff :-)

If this has one thing going for it its that it sounds like it was done on tape. Very analog sound, very good.

It does not distort in my cans .

12/8 groove on a 4 to the floor is always a hard task but i think you got something and if you are unhappy have another go:-)

You created a great groove with the 12/8 guitar and the half time elctro beat. Sounds like you had drumming fun in the end section

Its got that Yan hammer overtone.

You should get together with another certain mixer on here and get some pastel jackets with shoulder pads. :-]

Nice production.:-)

Came back to say this is my all time favourite mix of this track, even though i have to block out the action fx stuff.

I have been playing it out and doubling the guitar solos with harmonies. Awesome sound. :-) :-)

And the winner for best soundtrack in an action genre goes to.

I love the open clearing at 1.32, full of light and waterfalls a lesson in how to paint pictures with sound. :-)

One comment for all of your recent mixes. You come up with some great soundscapes and have a dry fat in your face sound but often it feels as though you have come up with a good riff and bolted a few vocal lines on then copied up the sections.

It would be nice to see you come up with something once in a while less quantised that works closer to the vocal melody and progresses emotionally in the arrangement.

And while others may see this as being modern i think we both know its a very formulae groove.

But nice to see your mix quota into double figures now :-)

You may remember i said to you many months ago that you might end up somewhere different to where you were expecting to go.

Well you did, you have arrived and in more ways than one you have delivered, nurtured and survived :-)

Never put an age group rating on your work.

The Crystal mix i just did was the result of hearing a DJ friends mix tape from the south of france. The listening age group is a lot younger of this style belive me and this fits right into that pocket.

You are out there swimming now and nicely done.

Wanna co write something new ?

***** :-)

Jason what a great find to find you here. Your modesty about your playing connections is to be commended. You may have found a place but its a wacky one sometimes. Fantastic that you have put a mix up for us here with one of your blistering solos. Just great.

Now if you were Jason C that would be a further delight. I would be chasing you for stories about Teddy P:-]

*****

Read your notes and did not see it that way as this mix is like a Leviathan. Deep and brooding.

Musically it is massive and i dont feel that the low vox are a problem as they fit the dark mood perfectly.

You could have approached Scarbourgh for some real cello licks for this as it would have added some real tonality to the sound. :-)

This mix is compressed so hard and flat you could slide it under the door.

At around 2.10 it goes all NPG with what i think is a Narada Micheal Walden bass riff.

If this is the after shock of working with Have Mercy then i think id better go and buy some restraints.:-]

Hey Rusty i feel really left out now as i did a Joi mix with the sea in it and you didnt mention me, dooh.

Well it starts like you are killing a small animal by guitar solo and then just rocks out. I can see you now with your foot on the foldback monitor , a dead seagull on your shoulder and the crowd bobbing up and down to your echoey riffs.

Very Cool mix.

And finally i have never seen a seagull come, have you got any pictures ? :-]

I really like this.

It's like AK and PG turned up at a Paul Weller gig and get called up onto stage. They give the band a few sheets with the Salala chords on to follow. Then some crafty engineer pulls a stero mix directly off the desk and bootlegs it here.

Nice :-)

Well i wish i could get my kids to try something new with a few words on an internet page. Perhaps i will have to start emailing them to tidy their rooms up.

This is not so much a departure but a side step and a touching beautiful one at that. There is the Nirvana grunginess countered with the petally Ryuichi Sakamoto adlibs in the chorus. Gave me chills.

The nursery piano felt too loud on its own but it flows so well in the chorus and provides a new lift in the latter part of the mix.

Exploring a new direction is never achieved in one leap its a gradual toe in the water until you feel safe away from shore. But i like doing it when i can and as with my new mix you can always swim back to shore, dry off and lay comfortably in the sun.

Happy Swimming Colab. :-) *****

its nice having friends isnt it :-)

Nice retro N N Ninteen groove goin on.

the mix sounds a bit overloaded at times but you made a very poppy and commerical mix :-)

A great result on such limited resouces kept it up:-)

Every so often you miss a bunch of mixes and have to delve back into the pile and then find something unusual. This is tonights find for me.

I wont say its perfect but it has something

and dont pay any attention to Doghouse unless its got Banjos in or lately a scene from Swan Lake he wont like it. :-]

This mi

I really think its time to stop patting Suzy on the head now.

Quite simply this is an inventive , unusual and original mix with some very well crafted touches that i like a lot.

LS

I like the funky riff you created with the Rhodes early on and some of the Ouds licks are really good.

There is a lot more thought in this than i have heard you make before.

You have dirtied up the sound well like listening after 10 pints of lager so in the rights hands this could be a Bartender. er contender

Nice mix. Your guitar reminded me of Wah Wah Watson.

And a first public upload aah , its all down hill now the wolves have it. I hope you have a good phychiatrist.

Well done :-)

You have a style that I like, its introspective and thoughtful but it would be nice to see you stray once in a while into uncharted waters. :-)

You have a fine understanding of musical style to go from your last mix to this.

Its fun indeed and the looseness is perfect for the vibe. :-)

Fabulous, mad and infectious. Anglique and PG soft shoe at the Cotton Club. :-)

Is the Soundtrack to the sequel to Brokeback mountain ?

All i can say is you crafty deceitful old mangy mutt. The times you have nibbled at my heels about my over romantic mush and here you are trussed up in a pair of tights and ballets shoes performing an Ange, Saut De L' around the studio.

I suppose the end strings are that long because you wanted to close with the slow motion sound of swans wings in flight but could not find the sample.

A very pleasing but not surprising five stars :-)

The best use of this sample pack bar none yet.

Now perhaps someone might understand what i meant by a supplying a decent mix pack because imagine just how mind blowing brilliant this mix would be with a few more verse or vocal lines to use as for me that is all that is missing.

Without them its still a great platform to show your obvious mixing skill. :-)

Let me break this down for those who dont get it. This is not music for the McCello school of sublte vibrato where the delicate intertwining phrases are the prime subject for light conversation at a dinner party.

Its a stand up, sweat covered, fuel injected ride. The key is not the chords but the build and the sound.

Its understanding a few bars prior to 2.40 that a rush is now needed in that part the of mix and sonically supplying it.

Dont pass a dance mix over as being easy you should try it . Its as important as any music form and in many ways more authentic as the root of this is pure primeaval.

If you dont get it, go buy a violin .

Fives stars and one of you best :-)

I have to say i was about to go get a hotdog when this started as i thought it was the end of the first period and the Calgary Flamers were ahead.

It reminds me very much of a Jean Michelle Jarre piece with Trevor Horn overtones.I would agree that a stronger drum sound would have powered it along more.

But other than that it is highly original. In fact i have never heard anything like it.

The vocal arrangment at 2.40 on is very well done and i would not know where to begin to create something like that. It sounds a very authentic chorale. Nice

ah.great timing i just got back in time for the face off.

:-)

*****

I like this music less and as it is but think there was a missed opportunity to have developed the build and fall of the drums with a more colour, complexity and variation.

Voices work perfectly with it all but this is one mix that should have kept the English vocals out and started with AK as the section after PG works so much better for me.:-)

*****

Very accomplished arrangement.

My end feeling though is that am listening to the wonderful performances rather than a development of the lyric and vocals . For me with this lyric it should be the other way around.

Wonderful deep sound on your mix though :-)

I can't beleive you have only two comments on this TZ.

I love the opening until the beats drop as they just sound to full on too early . The four to floor also feels a bit cheap for the quality of your sounds and pads.

The best bit for me is 2.40 on and i would love you do a complete mix with that. Its very Shakira / Dancehall.

:-)

Nice work.

As its basically an acapella version one thing would have been to explore the positioning and placement of the voices and develop the `room choir' effect as they all stack up on top of each other.

Perhaps think that you are taking a group photo of them and imagine where they are standing. Your pretty good with a lens from what i have seen :-)

Great arrangement, i think it gets a bit too grand for me but the opening and last 30 secs are wonderful and i could listen to a whole mix with those elements only. :-)

I like this from 1.26 on after the last drugs bust shoot out and police raid.

Not to sure if your playing guitar or VST but the sounds are great.

But oh dear the police came back and shot up your pc at the end

oh well:-)

This is a great mix the only thing that ruins it for me is the room reverb all over the drum track as it loses the power of your great end sequence and blurs the overall sound.

I am still going five on it for the work, the notes and your inspiration :-)

Beautiful haunting melody deserving far more than the three measley stars its been reduced to.

Think i can guess some of your influences.

And nothing wrong with the ending to me

*****:-)

I am sure most people do, but have you considered the amazing amount of work and pure creativity in this fantastic track.

Why just the lyrics alone are a joy to listen to. My 13 year old son has it on his Ipod right now.

And out of context nah ? Its a joyful celebration built on the subject of the song.

Brilliant work.

You should remember that you cant take a piss from the top of the tree unless you have climbed it first.( and you wont find that in a book of quotes i just made it up, so excuse me while i use it )

If its not at the top of the chart come Sunday then learn to speak Eyetalien.

:-]

Love this mix Maxwell. I have said before sometimes on your stuff that the reverb balance was a little out but on here its perfect.

The chords shifting underneath are great and the half time snare pulls the groove back a forth.

I have always liked your mixes but you really stepped up a gear here.

***** :-)

Thanks every one for your comments and thanks to Scarbourgh for highlighting a mystery that i could not understand about the vocals, mentioned in some of the comments.

All the vocals on this mix are from the mix pack i have added nothing.

The spoken word `Salala' is Peter Gabriel from his recorded message on the competition page. :-)

I think this mix confused me at the start, two versions, i thought it sounded slow , so it was at the wrong sample rate eh, two versions, notes not there on one mix, notes there on another mix. Comments now moved across from one to the other.

I mean lets forget Terry Wogan its had more changes than bar staff at the Queen Vic.

But finally i can say now its at rest that its great and I love it. I just now need to lie down and rest :-]

Without doubt its a great production.

I was hoping you were going to vary the four chord pattern at some time to further build the pressure or take it the other way to barely nothing and build again or have some other twist.

Voices and mix are great and cant wait to hear your orginal stuff. :-)

This is probably one of the most original takes on this mix pack.

The opening section prior to the drums are dark and moody with the Moonlight chords and the only thing that felt awkward was taking it to the full tempo when the opening was half time.

For me personally you play the piano so well i would love to hear this opening treatment against the whole track and a darker hip hop or dope beat with the whole mix and groove.

Very Clever work :-)

Well i do not know if you are suffering from anti Hotpick fallout here as after 5 days a couple of votes and a single comment.

The RW boys obviously heard something. It has some nice ideas but feels a little disjointed and random to me . If that was your aim then fine but was hard for me to connect with it personally.

But i hope a few others stop by though with other opinions soon . :-)

Your best mix ever imho :-)

Its a conception mix rather than a delivery job. Should have had one of those parental guidance stickers in parts, (i have never had one of them so might be time )

I always suffer from general artiste comparison on my comments but this is very Stranglers.

Great Job.:-)

I am so glad you kept this real ( dont beat me up i dont know how to call it in comparison but you know what i mean) . Everyone knows you have a great sense of humour but this shows just what you can do and what great musicianship you have.I love it.

The division in style has another benefit for me as if you have only a limited time to work on mixes here i would rather hear this with its change of pace, than have to wait another six months for another mix to come along.

Guitar work reminded me of Robin Ford and the Yellow Jackets and shades of Ritenour silky and smooth very nice.

Toally impressed. Just dont keep us all waiting so long the next time. :-)

Three minutes of beautifully and skillfully produced music.

One of the first for a long time that held my attention till the end.

Nice one Dad.:-)

*****

Outstanding.

I was hoping at some point with the Joi mix pack and this that someone would arrive with some real connection and background to the originals so this works totally for me here.

Five stars.:-)

I really love what you have done here. The injection of a few other Gabriel words has taken it towards a PG song but thats what i did anyway. So what the hey

I kept thinking Fairground Attraction or a chilled out Pougues while it was playing.

Very Commerical which is unlike you ,

Nice one MH.

:-)

Its getting easy these days to manipulate vocals to all sort of degrees. Mixes throw in all sorts of fireworks, glitches and tweaks to get your attention but often sacrifice the connection to the spirit of the lyric and the vocal perfomance.

For me the very best mixes take the vocal and other parts and make them their own.

This mix does this in spades. Listen to it twice and you wont easily remember the original.

Ands thats what a remix should do :-)

How? How? How ? can this not be hot picked ???

It is a totally beautiful haunting arrangment.

Rich from the first beat it focusses totally on supporting the vocal performances and takes Angeliques ad lib ending to a new high.

It keeps the 12, 8 groove and while the initial treatment is a jazz trio it moves way beyond that.

So i am a long time fan of Caml, but i know class when i hear it. :-) :-)

LS

Quite simply You outdid the original in a style like the original but better.:-)

I have no idea if all this was intentional but i feel it was which makes this mix first class.

It has a great sense of theatre.

The DRY treatment conveys the drought waterless idea beautifully and the simple addition of bits of building percussion sounds like heavy raindrops on boxes and pavements breaking into the storm.

Excellent mix Tethia loved it :-)

A very Beats Internationl, Stereo MCs feel .

A bit more work on those vox would have not gone amiss as they sound a bit buried but musically a tasty overall treatment. :-)

At least you get a better picture :-)

back to say Short, sweet , mono ? and sounds like at a low bit rate but.

i like it :-)

There are shades of Bjork in here and i kept thinking you were going to go to a pretty quiet bit but it kept rolling on.

Chunky and in you face is how i would descibe it.

It does get you though with that odd red indian hypnotic quality.:-)

It makes me worry when i hear a mix submitted under the wrong mix pack heading as to whether anyone at RW is really listening or checking as much as they should or on the other hand its just a silly mistake.

is'nt it ? :-)

I love this mix Schraas :-]

Been around a few of the bands in the UK who are ska and reggae based . They'd be well happy to have this in their set.

an me tok tru :-)

Ok its been a here a few months and i missed due to Monkey withdrawl symptoms.

But the rating on this looks like its an authentic comp entry with only two stars and its way better than that.

:-)

This is more like it great job here . Was waiting for the rhythm to blow up after Mid 8 but it never happened until the last few bars oh well cant have everything.

But i like this a lot you could take this vibe and do a sallalaalalaa mix with it .:-)

Its a Simple Minds makeover , vocals are a bit loud compared to the backing but all is very well done. :-)

After so many mixes of this track i am a bit allergic to it and come out in a rash .:-]

However i am glad pushed the button on this one . Its a very powerful arrangement and a very careful Gabriel/ Genesis choice in instruments and sounds that places it perfectly in the Rw camp.

You have been listening and it shows nice job. :-)

I think this is a great use of the four minute barrier that 4.5 meg gives us with a reasonable quality upload.

I love the fact that you are trying new things and experimenting with samples and flavours against the vocals.

I can still hear though that there is great thought to the sounds you use with the lyrics.

You get better with every mix, keep it up. :-)

One thing I forgot to say in the notes is that i wish i could have edited Angeliques verse but have not got a clue what i would have ended up with her singing or what sense it would have made.

In consolation i can only say she has one very sexy profile :-x

This is a real journey of a mix. It starts like a Steven Bishop song which is fine by me, grows into some more avante prog rock , gets into a Geneisey Steve Hackett part and then comes home.

well done, i liked it man. :-)

I have not commented on a McCello mix until now because quite frankly it simply was never needed.

I have PMd and he knows what i think of his work and ability.

All i am reduced to saying is do not limit your listening of this guys work to what you hear on Realwold . You will find a lot out there on the net under his real name and its a delight to find , appreciate and listen to.

LS

I wonder soemtimes just what you do as you seem in 2007 to be able to produce a couple of mixes a week. thats an outstanding output.

A harder kick and snare would have put this in Shakira land. It has give me a few ideas though.

Keep it up RT :-)

Great mix only wish you had said something about how you created it in the form of notes

So I have no idea if i am listening to a big sample cd but anyway it sounds fresh. :-)

Outstanding mix . Was really surprised maybe i should not be but i am.

You have controlled all the vocal overlays with a great deal of skill.

The groove is very hip hop, i said jokingly a while back you were a dark horse now i am serious.

frogs got more curls and needs a haircut :-)

****in Brilliant

hey Nnoiz how you doin great to see to see you back here. You know what i think of your oboe performances and you have done it again here.

Great version and totally works.

Its an LS hotpick

:-)

This was pretty good until the Oboe came in at bar 64. :-]

Great take on the mix . Vox could have been a little more defined but what the hey.

If this had been a Maddona vocal it would chart.

You get back at the critics by just doing another one. There are those not even off the blocks who dare to zero rate or wipe their snot onto your page.

You keep coming back with another one and it probably drives them insane and i love it. :-]

I adore this mix for some very personal reasons. Its a great version and good use of the vocal parts.

PG is just a touch too loud in his `place' line as against the rest of the mix and you could have explored taking him back into ambience.

But nice.vere nice :-)

its in the `edit your login details ' page :-)

Hi rev you need to switch on your PM ability on your mixer page for me to return a message to you. LS

You are turning in some great mixes. The quality of this is a bit wolley dont know bit rate its at.

Its out of the Jeff Lorber stable and has few familiar riffs but very enjoyable.

:-)

Probably to much ambience for Timbaland.

But I like it when you drop something new. Though the groove at 2.30 on was happening for me.

As ever nice production throughout. Hope theres more to come :-)

I like the horse in the background is that your baby rhino.?

You mixed it like they were in the room with you a very mordern take on the sound and production.

:-)

very sweet and freeform. perhaps a silky vocal trippy sound , you know what those are dont you, weaving around in the atmospheres. A little more work would have made this very special.

Cool work,

i suppose i am repeating myself but another mix that needs a better balance with the reverb and vocal parts. But some nice ideas

A very fairground atmosphere in fact you could Morris Dances to this, i'll just get my pole out :-)

There is a great feel about this mix but the vocal work lets it down to much rubbery reverb .

It tends to repeat after a while, a few more ideas perhaps could do with a Beanie Man spit.

But nicely Different.:-)

i like this a lot its a very glamourous version sort of like a live pop idol makeover.

There's a lot of energy which takes it far from the sentiment of the song so that gets lost in the brass for me but a nice job otherwise.

Sounds like a lot of coffe breaks rather than just one though eh ? :-)

Interesting comment Fractal Gee as this is at 103 bpm and the original is at 102 and a bit bpm. So its marginally faster ???

But thanks for your comment and everyone else for stopping by :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

The intro is dreary self indulgent plinky plonky mush suitable for background play at bathtime in an old peoples rest home.

Followed by a section thats nearly good enough for a short session of Dad Dancing at a friends wedding.

Overall a sad waste of 4 meg on Realworlds hard drive.

Was trying to press the no stars button and accidently gave it 5 . Shit shit .

What a great piece of work . Its like genesis.

The mixes that work best for me of this song are those that connect the emotion to the theme of these words.

There are one or two mixes that have come in lately that miss the point of these words and simply show off musically .

They might get the hotpicks , the big plays and attention but this works so much better for me anyday.

LS :-)

This is a first class mix of this song. This is more than alright.

I have posted before now how i hate these drums. But this is a great arrangement.

Sounds fab beautiful stereo field so i will say it again whats the problem ? :-)

You seem to pack about 10 mixes into one. Thats good value.

try and stick to a more defined section like the one around 1.45 or 3.09 both which i really like .

I get the feeling you like to experiment and thats great but try and consider the audience and the journey.

Gonna listen some more. :-)

I love this mix. You packed so much colour into 5 mins great job.

I was waiting for the chorus at 2.13 to come back as that is the best treament of it i have heard so far but it didnt.

I saw your post in the forum and let me tell you this sounds fantastic in the headphones. If you have some hearing problems they dont show in your mixes keep it up.

LS :-)

Very Very Cool. takes me back to the Hacienda :-)

My last comment still stands. Aiya Napas just a short drive away, the seasons not far off, its getting hotter. whats stoppin you ? :-)

Welcome to the 30 Club.

Your vocal work gets better and better. When i listen to your mixes i always have the feeling you really enjoy creating the vibe.

I would put the mix at 4 but i add 1 more for making it to 30. Should'nt we get a watch or somthing ? Maybe a telegram from PG :-]

My favourite part of this mix is the little voice at the end that sounds like shes in the bathroom.

I would give this five if you can send me a small video clip of you dancing to it :-)

Well i have waited a while before commenting on Andreass mixes because i had a sneaky suspicion that he was getting too good at this mixing game and was about to become serious competition.

But its been quiet for a while so i guess i am safe. You have used this little programme to create a fascinating blend of simple phrases that connect the Joi wavs nicly , as Sting says Ill be watching you :-)

It is early dawn and a splinter of red light breaks over the quiet sea. On a small island some lost tribe is getting ready for their annual offering to a mountain spirit perhaps an active volcano.

A lone horn on the cliff top heralds the day of sacrifice, while the quiet solemn procession of the edlers climb the lower slopes in the half light, heavy with their offerings and icons.

A breeze sways back and forth disturbing the dry leaves of the eucalyptus tress and carries with it a sense of the spirits magic . It weaves around them as they climb.

Back in the village there are chants and prayer for their safe return and the forgiveness of the spirit to save their land. Every one is quiet and tense.

Do they succeed, are they saved we will never know perhaps we will find out in your next mix.

This is great it has a Bernard Herman Taxi driver feel about in parts. The splitting of the vocals works really well as the background is so interesting they just become another musical element.

Glad to see people are still doing the older packs, me i dont think i could sit thru another skip session without medication:-]

oil Give it foive

I love the atmospheres in this mix and the beats are great .

The only downside for me is the balance of dry signal on the vocal reverb which i have heard in a few mixes where the vox get pushed back into the sound and i really want some part of them up close to me.

Its a small tweak but still doesnt take away the solid feel of this mix

Nice one :-)

First class mix everybody, the individual performances in each section are a delight.

Another great example of what can be done within the framework of this site.

The plus point is that there is enough of you to vote it to Number One in the charts without a global E. Mail campaign , well done :-]

You just know when you press the play button it will be different . If you think its too short go listen to all of Lees other mixers, join them together maybe play them backwards or sideways if you can but get a drink and dont operate machinery while you listen

LS

You really suprised me with the beat. I would have liked vocal echoes a touch cleaner and made it simple and more personal.

I think that Stretching software company should start paying you as you have put it to such good use so many times.

But another good one for the stable.:-)

really nice mix. For me The vocals lose some of the placement and edge in the mix.

But what i love its ability to keep changing with little hammering hook line.

:-)

There are artistes and there are the people who produce for them and make their music come to life.

Those people are by their nature able to cross over any musical boundaries. They are not limited by self promoting bullshit about what is good and bad or how clever they are, not desperately trying to tell others how it should be done, they just get on with it , do another mix and make it work

Unsung and humble.Hernine is one.

This is as good as an XL track . Period.

LS

I love the background of this .

If anything the regular timing of the vocals feel odd sometimes to the ambient free form of track. Some disturbance of that flow would have worked better for me.

But very nice work.:-)

There is always a familiarity to Spinmesiter mix . Its like coming home.

Theres a homage here to all your influences. And its true to your style. I like it.

Just need one of those laser keyboards now and a few GEs. :-)

You are turning into a free agent and breaking all kinds of musical barriers. This is cool.

Some mixers on here think its not important to know about the mixer and the mix is all you should be listening for. I disagree. Knowing the journey is as important as the destination.

And you are on an interesting road.:-)

Someone pass me something.

Wu Tang in places so you dont need and other compliments

LS

Quite honestly george you dont need to be here. These mix wavs just give you vocal stems to cook and RWRM is a place to hang these out to dry.

For gods sake find a label and get some stuff out there. LS

You have made a departure to inject an element of organised composition into your recent work and its gone to a new level for me.

I have heard hundreds of mixes on this site over the months and i can honestly say that this is a mix i would buy. Not bad for someone who did not like the mix pack at the start.:-)

Would not be out of place on a Simon and Garfunkel album.

reminds me of The Sound of Silence. the dark horse gets darker.:-)

Outstanding.

Nothing more to say. :-)

This is like a man fiddling about with his instrument and fiddling with it very well.

As Borat would say ` Nice'

and nice to have you back here.

Tremendously inventive and colourful piece. :-)

Knowing a little about you means i can see how you have taken these parts and made them very personal to your nature and thats a skillfull thing to do.

I think its your most well thought through and developed mix to date. well done :-)

Very playful i like it a lot but would stop well short of calling it art though.

You are someone with tons of skill and the kit these days allows us all to sonically experiment. Your ability to do commercial radio type mixes keeps this mix on course.

I just hate the 808 snare sound though ( not your fault ) but something crunchy would have been nice.

:-)

Great Great Job.as you now i am probably more formally song based in what i do so for me this is the best mix you have done since signing up for the mad house.

I genuinely appreciate your notes as it gives me a real insight to your process and playing ability and you obviously have it in spades.

Its packed with great ideas and you have kept it tight and on course. I could make comparisons but wont as you have made the pack your own and kept your identity in a very big way.

For somone to lose a star for fading this mix is a joke ( and people try to make me out as being strict ?. ) How about i start losing stars for a mixer not using the drum parts next time :-)

In fact fades are welcomed in a radio mix for a DJ pick up and VO and often tease a listener to put it on again.

Really well done. :-)

This is a very Euro take on rap but there is a great use of involving just about every wav going.

Its packed with an overload of ideas sort of three mixes in one.

Thats makes it good value to me.

Nice job :-)

Whilst this is not the most adventurous mix i prefer a simple take on the wavs to some of the recent mixes i have heard.

Music maker is not the most adaptable programmes so to just call out for you to add other stuff really is a bit unfair as you may not have means.

If you have then this is a good beginning to build on.

At least you have made a start and have a mix on the site which is more than a lot of other people can say. :-)

Remarkable job to get the Ouds sounding like Tony Levin. ( Rex files dont cha just love em ? )

Just need PG singing some unfathomable lyric on top to complete it.

Like it a Lottie .:-)

I admire your departure to move into another style however commenting on the mix alone i cant get into this .

As a texture it works but lacks the definate purpose of your previous work it just feels OK. I dont know how difficult it is in Reason to create these Bit crushed sounds but other packages can do it with the flick of a switch which i suppose is my main block here.

I much prefer the direction you were heading with your happy now mix which is very accomplished and still view that as your best to date. :-)

You have tried to attach the vocals to this very excellent piece of music and for me they dont quite go at the best of times. The Fx vox do it the best as they sound celtic.

But the track is fantastic musically although i am not sure what else remains of the Joi pack beyond those guitars or where you are in all of it.

Your notes are always interesting but once in a while i would like hear something more about the mix. :-)

Yes yes yes yes yes, wow .

This tune begins properly for me at 2.00 with a groove staight off a Jagged Edge album that had me wanting it for myself.

It gets a bit over loaded past the intro which is in the same groove a case of less is more perhaps.

But Dawg this is off the lease and yoos in the pen here.:-]

Not as much a mix as a stunning piece of individual work. Tremendous.

An LS hot pick of the highest order for what its worth.

5* without hesitation :-)

I listend to this without reading the notes and thought it sounded very Haiwian. I had a few more grass skirted dancing girls in my picture than babies and washer women.

But a simple and languid mix thats paints a very tropical picture. Nice :-)

Its a very Tubular bells type treatment that does not really need any other vox parts.

A stronger bass element and prescence would have developed the mood for me.

I think the reverb issue is more about balance with a dry signal than type.

But overall like what you have done with this :-)

Methinks vox is a bit a dark horse claiming to be a basic rock merchant and yet turning in this.

Very subtle and poetic . I like it a lot.

Just goes to show, that no matter the view outside your window you can be anywhere with the imagination of music. :-)

Here you are again doing what you are very good at.

This mix seems to have had some of the detail compressed out of it losing its ability to breathe, and crushing some of the clever detail but still a very accomplished job.

You should have enough mixes now for a very consistent and distinctive Superstarz album :-)

Top drawer stuff. Really great mix.

You can make a cymbal. Put the Fx vox in a sampler with a reverb at cymbal length after it. Hit a bunch of the the top keys and you will get a cymbal type sound.

The drums can be beefed up with `pops' from the vox parts.

I have just uploaded a pack only mix and this proves what can be done with the wavs.

5 from me :-)

This may be another Acappela mix and i wonder if you had heard the other before you did as the intro is very similar. But this one works for me so much better as it places Joi in the foreground.

The work supports the vocal samples rather than turning them into backing singers.

The addition of the spectrasonics vocals also moves the work towards a keyboard sound addressing the balance yet again.

Its a great job, but what others seem to not understand here is that for me, if you are creating a competition mix then the more creative use of the Joi elements that i can hear, then the more respect i have for it as a remix.

Whilst this is a beautifully crafted and perfectly listenable mix, something less well done but with more use of the pack might get more of my vote.

And If i did a mix like this i would be satisfied if it was viewed in the same way.

Having said that i will give you five beacuse it is so very well done and you have kept Joi fully in the spotlight. :-)

I love the first 2 minutes of this mix. I am not sure what part of the joi pack i am listening to but unlike some of the recent mixes where additional voice or music has hi jacked the mix elements and beaten the pack into the background this creates a gentle emotional response that weaves the sounds into it.

I am not sure about the poetry guy as its not working for me here being neither prominent or developing the mood and would have liked some treatment of the other Joi vocal elements in some way.

I think that addition would have made this mix very special.

****

Perhaps now you have done this you might like to go back and listen to my Chaka Mix as there is more going on it with reverse work ( the ouds ) and other

samples aswell than you can hear.

I think you have overdone the amount of reverse sampling on this for me and it should be remebered that the down beat effectively moves when a line is reversed which creates for a retimed vocal delivery.

Shifting those points would have got the groove back into it.

What i do like is that fact you have departed to do another very different mix and that for me begins to show your range. :-)

Once again just a great sounding mix.

Perhaps people are saying NPG because of the intro but once again there few more influences and touches in here that are a lot more current.

like I hope Eminem doesnt rip off the first 18 - 40 secs :-)

What impresses me in addition to the quality of your mixes is the vast range of musical references you draw upon and make you own. Shades of Lalo Schifrin an Bob James all wrapped around the sample pack.

Far too clever :-)

My My what a lot of words.

Like the colour at 3.21

You know what we have heard and what i like.

Stay parked in the zone.

I like this a lot.

That CP80 piano gives it a very Simple Minds feel one of my fav bands.

nice work :-)

Outrageous, another Radio Times Extravaganza,

i think one of the hi hats is a bit late in the second verse :-]

And can you possibly transcibe it to sheet music and post it to me .

Keep It up RT :-)

It reminds me a little of Credence Clearwater Revival. But a cool and interesting mix :-)

Doing what you and Doing it exceptionally well yet again .

i might join you in this playground in a while

:-)

As much as i really did liked your first mix i am not sure what you are doing here. Yes its clever , yes you have done it well although the mix is bit full to my ears, but i keep saying why ?.

So you can replace the Ouds and the rhythm with a vocal versions but why. You can join in with the vocals and double the sound, but Joi have become secondary here.

This mix borders on a cover for me there is so much of Marco in here. Even if the choruses had been left with the girls alone singing the lead it would have addressed the balance.

As a demo for your obvious skill it is a fine piece of work and as piece of entertainment then its a great addition to the site. But i think if Joi were not secondary to the work here it would have been better for me.

But in any instance you are to be commended on the level of work it must have taken to do this :-)

Your mixes are always inventive and original. But there is one thing i know will happen even before i play them is that the vocals will be awash with reverb. For me if you experimented more with a dry signal and the balance of reverb these mixes would take on a new character.

It reminds me a bit of the disney parade music and i remember Mr Chisholm well.

I think he did some sessions with the Bee Gees didnt he ? :-]

letting go is the hardest thing, but sometimes moving on brings the greatest rewards.

Really atmospheric mix.:-)

The reason i like this is that you have taken the parts and made them your own. Yet you can clearly feel the original parts and have skillfully blended them with your new additions which support but do not overpower them.

It does have a very roadtrip feel and i enjoied the journey.

On a technical and musical decision level, if there is anyone who has improved to my ears over last six months then its you Spinmeister. :-)

The great thing about still having all of these mixes here is that you can come back and find the really special ones. This still is a very accomplished and enjoyable piece of work . Hope you get to do a joi mix Hernine :-)

I really like this its very Paul Weller the only thing about it for me that feels out of place is the move into the major key for the Wheels Keep turning part its almost too nice.

But other wise a very atmospheric mix :-)

Totally & Completely Love It :-)

But Not long Enough :O=

Listening to the two i like the other mix sonically as there seems a bit more bite in the drums, but think the arrangement and build of this is better.

There is still only one way i believe of slowing vox down this much and thats good old tape and pitch change after. Cant beat the Oxide. Nice mix :-)

its like a campfire round.

I am glad you are still putting stuff up here

`any one can do this right.'

I remember someone saying that a long time ago and it still stands. You have as much right as anyone else and if it was not up to a standard RW wouldnt put it on.

its early days, but at least you have got mixes on here, so good for you Andreas :-)

`I had intended to make something beautiful, and failed. :)

No you didnt you suceeded there are some very delicate parts to this . I am looking out at 7 inches of snow this morning, its still falling and there is a drift.

perfect soundtrack for it, very nice.:-)

I think certain mixes are a passage from one to the next. And for me this is that. Its a departure from your first attempt but you cant quite bury your funky roots in those wha wha effects.

You always get a solid fat sound though so im looking for Schras 3 :-)

Used to be best friends , romance is dead,,,hmmmm something of a pattern here.

i like it when people have done a few mixes as you can see a progression and development of the music.

perhaps your next title should reflect the next chapter in the relationship :-)

Ironic title but a very romantic mix subtle and flowing perhaps the reason i didnt add rythym is that you had already done it so well. :-)

i actually think the groove kicking in a 1.58 is excellent and should have been the whole mix and somthing you could develop really well.

But you come back to the snappy snare thing which is like another mix to me. perhaps more balance in the reverb overall aswell, but a good effort :-)

I actually think you have got it going on in here and love the individual parts but the layers of reverb have pushed it so far back it sounds like a soundcheck at a live gig.

Now that may have been you intention but i would love to hear it cleaner. :-)

I think this was one of the first mixes of this track on the site and it feels like you are just flexing your mix muscles here.

There will be more to come i am sure, as your mix number 2 shows :-)

For someone who says he's not too happy with the mix pack you seem to be getting a very original take as usual on it all. This is very Talking Heads to me and grows on you.

I'll send Robin and Barry around to give it a bit of high end lift looking forward to your next 10 :-)

Really nice work splitting the vox up and placing them. Still waiting for you to blow up a little with your mixes, but a really cool result overall keep it up. :-)

Like it, Like it some of the chords flavours around a minute in are superb. I felt the main chorus vox were missing some eq and placement but a fine mix. Some great colours :-)

Cool and understated i like it . It was great to see you add to all your Monkey Mixes so hope you do some more.

As its a bit trippy i think you missed a real opportunity for a title.

`The Pink Pig In the Pencil Cup'

.would have done nicely for me :-]

Correction to my above comment.

I know its early days in this competition but for me i would go and find out about flights from Italy to the UK. :-)

Beautiful, fantastic job.

How can this not be a hot pick again ????

5 stars without a doubt.:-)

You got a warm sound here and its probably more focussed than the original but also to close to it for me. Would have liked you stretch out a little and developed it more towards the end.

:-)

Pretty. You have some nice ideas going on here but its really a two chord flow that needed to develop out and i was waiting to be surprised but it did not come.

I think your vocals should have been more forward as your new sound bed is centre stage and they feel secondary to the groove.

Perhaps a single style throughout would have also added some focus for me. But some great sounds happening here. :-)

Nice mix the new bass line at 3.05 might have arrived a little earlier somehow but i like it overall :-)

Fantastic mix Schras kept me interested throughout . Well fat sound and the end chords work really well. Nice to have you back around here :-)

Thats should should say above ` ooh 8 months.'

See you wait eight months for a comment and two come along at the same time. :-]

I am late commenting again on this by ooh say The drums are a bit loopy and predictable but the over all feel of this is cool. For a track that has little to develop you did a good job :-)

This is a dreamy beautiful vibe . The drums at the start dont go to well but the pick up at 3.00 is really nice. It needs a greater control over all the ambient revs and delays in the middle section but its very very different. Another one i missed and worthy of a hotpick .

:-)

Another mix thats been here six months with no comments my apologies for missing it the first time around . Its a chilled groove that could grow a llittle more for me but the little melody at 2.05 is sweet :-)

This has been here since Oct 2006 and it must have been a bit bleak not getting a comment. The new radio thing found it for me and its nice. Not unlike a lot of other mixes on here but you did a good job :-)

Heres one the radio threw up tat i missed .Got a third World dark vibe, like it. :-)

In quantum physics there is a theory that as the universe is made of nothing but energy that every form , for instance a tree or a mountain , reacts in the same way but in a different time and space.

So throw a rock at a mountain side and it my wince in pain but take four years to show it.

So what we have here is three seconds of the original when listend to by the Grand Canyon.

But Mount Everest wants to know when you are going to do the other mix packs :-]

Wallsall

The vocals might have been better at half speed with the resistentia lasting a full bar and on the beat. In fact the vox are kind of secondary to your groove.

Its nice to see you starting to develop the individual sections more than your early mixes.

The sound quality if first class though. :-)

This is the best mix of Bliss since Caml did it and which you wont find on this site anymore.

The quality and groove are mesmerising

Another tune that should have hotpic status so its a Loveshadow Hotpick for what its worth.

Beautiful.:-)

This is your place Synthetic.

Edgy non desciptive boundaries devoid of oxygen. Stay on this course Neptunes up ahead.

Try and understand the emotion you have found in this work and make it happen again and again.

Upload a version half the length and twice the quality. It would be worth it.

Way to go Backstage.mission accomplished and its official :-)

If this is not at the top of chart tommorow somethings bust on this site :-]

Ah Skip stopped singing and the baby cried or maybe it was that drummer next door woke him /her up.

Interesting mix that feels like the pre soundtrack in a stage play before the curtain goes up.

Its a bit of scary blend for me as its like having Skip in the nursery and that sounds ominous and that crying itself takes me back to too many sleepless nights of my own.

Hope the baby's sleeping now .:-)

At last your thinking emotionally with your arrangement and sound choices. Love this mix man. Those hotpick boys should stand up occasionally instead of listening to this stuff sitting down. Its a hotpick in my book and 5 stars :-)

You threw everything into this. its about four mixes in one almost like the band doing a live interpretation of their own track. Theres enough material for a bunch of mixes but very creative.

Fine job :-)

Whats nice about what you do is not be afraid of trying something new. I think there is a joyful sense of experiment with a lot of what you do and its great to hear you moving in different directions.

There is a cool Pete Townsend quality about this in parts . Keep it up in 2007 .:-) :-)

Nice to see you got this mix up here in the end. The ensemble play very well, it becomes almost operatic at times good job. :-)

Nice job its like an encore mix. :-) :-)

very ,

very,

very,

real

Like it a lot.:-)

Looks like you got you s.t well together here Hernine.

Nuff said :-)

Been off line for a while so listening to a few mixes. You have done some fine stuff. This mix has some great shapes that are a bit lost in the background in favour of the vox that if mixed louder would have the emotion more in your face. but I like it :-)

Thanks COCA , I am really knocked out you like this mix. Thanks for commenting and for saying who you are it makes a huge difference to me to get a comment from someone in the band. :-) :-) :-) :-)

Yes my i have a full mice orchestra. They do all my arrangments. It was an idea i got from Beatrix Potters The Tailor of Gloucester :-]

But thanks Keys916 and everyone else who have paid a visit, listened and commented post comp on Enos. He has orbited the world many times, in more ways than one just recently as you may soon find out :-)

Nice to see you getting out of the pattern type grooves and breaking the vox up. This needs to be played loud for it to sound at its best.

You keep saying that your mixes are unfinished so maybe you next one should be as you want it be.

But another good mix for your stable . :-)

A really simple sexy groove . Would like you to inject the odd single chord to change the feel of the 4 bar groove,. But very listenable :-) :-)

Somebody get this man a new mix pack before he turns into his Gibson 335 and is totally absorbed by his P.C. ala TRON.

The sources of inspiration is an interesting one in any mix /tune and although Skip is it here I would like this better without him it or so obvious a full vocal. ( sounds like Santa arrived at the end ) 8 and counting ) :-)

I have been listening to this mix for quite a while now after another mixer asked me to go listen to it.

You could argue that it is not contempory or the reverbs this or that but whatever.

This outdoes the orginal by miles for me. If anything i would have liked your Oboe playing as loud as the vox. If i was working for RW and looking to put a compilation CD of mixes off this site together for a commercial realease, then this would be on it.

I dont know where you are but PM me for a chat.

Preferred your first to this if anything this uses the vocal too much as a song . You could have cut this up harder. At 1.46 your drop back would have been better for me to roll of the eq and build from that point into a screamer of rave tune . Its another good mix though. :-)

I like the feel overall of this but the pad washing around after the beats kick in keeps the music sounding like a single chord. For me the ambient opening is very good but agree you should have kept the mix pack beats out till your pick up. A more developed bass line would have taken that chord into a new shape. So good, but feels a little underdeveloped. Nice drum prog though :-)

I am not sure what this tune has done to you Radiotimes, but it seems to have evoked something of personal journey both in your notes and in the music. Its hard to know if you are being serious or just knocking out another groove i dont really care either way its just good to have you here putting more crazy stuff up here.

These mixes are getting further off the wall just remember to take your medication, lights are out at ten and tommorow there's cribbage in the recreation room :-]

I thought a long time about what to say here HM.

So for me there is nothing missing musically how can there be ? What could you add that would improve the combination of atmospheres you have created all that you would is have another version. You show some very educated ears in this mix so dont mess with it.

If anything is missing here its not in the audio but the pictures that should go with this. I said to RW a while back that they should have a gallery page for artists who might like to interpret mixes visually. This mix would be a great pictorial inspiration for someone.

LS

I cant help thinking that this vocal keeps taking you back to a western flavour. This is probably your most formal mix and here'rs you asking me to depart and you coming the other way here. Perhaps well meet in the carrall.

Any how another accomplished mix and dont too many though or people will talk about you :-]

Hi Doghouse hope you are well. You need to go to `Edit your log in details' and switch on to accept PM messages then we can have a chat about which movies you have'nt seen lately. My favourites for quite some time were, No return of the Jedi, Castaway, and The Postman always rings twice, (although not lately as our bell is broke). I did get Deliverance the other day though and nearly squwealed like a pig.

I want to say a big ( and genuine )thank you for anyone taking time to comment on any of my mixes. I still get a big buzz out of hearing what anyone has to say good or bad.

This was my five month anniversary mix. In that time i have learnt a lot. I have been led to new opinions about mixing and music and tried some very new things that others have suggested and shown me through their work.

There is a core here that keep this community going and a day does not go by where i dont check to hear whats new. Keep em coming :-)

Another energetic mix. A more fitting lyric to do this to than `if I had'. A few simple filter and resonance tweaks would have added some deeper colour and interests to your sequences and allowed the vocal to come through but another good job.

Fantastic mix Thukol. Listened to every second. You surprised me at every 8 bars with something new and yet it all feels very well connected. Superb Job :-) its 5* from the UK. :-)

Very solid sound again you seem to have got a new lease of life with this tune. My only gripe is the high level of vox echo or the position of it and lack of balancing dry signal. Nice job again though. :-)

Mind blowingly brilliant mix the vox effects are great. I said recently that its hard to find a new interpretation on vox FX but you have one here. Chourus is outstanding would have liked a solid snare rather than the paper bag but first class work. :-)

Let me be the first to say a very big well done. What a great use of the panning of the samples and simplicity of what you have done. I listened right to the end which is hard for me as i know the song and samples so well, but very good, so dont delay get into the next mix pack . :-)

Its work like this that adds class to this site and is an inspiration to other mixers at all levels, me included :-)

5 months on this site and people still want to have a legit copy. Is no one listening to the publics wishes at Realworld Remixed ??? :O=

Great respect for putting a complete different spin on this tune.

Nice mix again. A few contrasting bass notes would have deepend your groove and possibly a simple semi tone key change after 2.20 would have pushed the intensity up. But nice work. :-)

I love the panning ride cymbals a real head filler.

I think its hard to treat vocals in a new interesting way and when i cant find one i just make the voice as clean and as listenable as i can.

The `telephone'style eq here loses a lot of the intesity of Axes voice but overall i do like the mix. Nice job

The mix is full of some fine ideas but for me does not flow from one scene to another. Each part is well done and sonically very good except it felt like someone was turning the channel over just as i was getting into it.

These words are very important to you and yet the broken nature of this mix looses the simple thread of the message.

As you said on my mix they are like a poem so why rearrange them thats what i can't understand. I have done three mixes of this song and chose not to disturb or change the lyric flow purely because of this.

Technically though you have created a great sound overall and that warrants my 3 * :-)

You are right this is not a competion it is a remix site and mixes should be judged on all levels, technical, emotional, mix ability etc, and even though you did not rate my mix i will give you 3 stars.

LS :-)

Hit 3 * rather than 4 * if someone can spare a star can you please make up for my error.

This is a moody Exorsist of a mix. There is one thing though its very quiet and so couldnt get enough volume out of the PC to hear it at volume.

But from what i could hear its really good. :-)

Dreamscape audio, and 4.48 is and awfully long sleep in dreamtime.

Burnt groove that leaves no prisioners and probably wont become a first dance favourite for newly weds.

:-)

I started doing a jazzy mix like this but abandoned as it was to rigid this is nice a loose and works very well. A few recent mixes suffer for me for using to much reverb on the vocals which takes the singer away into the mix and it is a bit like that here. But I know from your notes you have been struggling to make something you were happy with.

Its very smokey basment mix though. :-)

I like your sound bed here a lot . There is a tendancy to destroy the vocal on dark moody mixes like this which i always think is an easy route to create some form of menance. When in fact the opposite is often the case. Im thinking Evanesance and the like. But otherwise a nice job.

Good to see you back here :-)

You have no comments on this so saw it and thought i would leave you something. You have not said anything about this mix in your notes and that helps people think you might want some comment.

This mix is like Country and Western Techno so i think you have invented a new genre lets hope it catches on.:-)

I am ignoring the vox timing issues which i dont think are so bad if you ride the groove. But i think you are mad Radio Times and everything you do surprises me and ime glad you are doing these mixes so can stay in the nice safe zone.

This mix would end up in a Tarentino film which is testament to how crazyily original it is. :-)

Very Third World and very authentically done which is hard . I like this mix the best out of your 3 axes mixes so far. If i had to say anything it would be to consider using a differnt approach to your vocals rather than a blanket reverb.

But i could listen to this groove without the vocals anyway. :-)

I think this is great . Why are people getting so hung up on these lyrics versus a `pretty' backdrop . Whilst this is `bell like' it is far from `joyfull' and still has that oriental sad feel that is haunting like a Merry Christmas Mr Laurence theme.

Nice work :-)

I have had to go back to your other mixes to get a view of what you like to do and i can tell you like creating dance pop type beats.

Its another good mix you have turned in. Having to pitch shift Axe up makes him sound a little odd i would have dropped your key to fit him. If you cant play it cheat and get your software to take it down. I'd like to know what you are using so feel free to PM me for a chat.

But i am glad you have stuck around and put some mixes up as it seems the post comp entry crew have left and left us a bit thin on the ground . :-)

I know you like real opinion rather than just a `well done.'

So for me the opening 23 secs musically is very chilled and pretty and makes me want to get those samples out and recreate what you have done there. Its so nice that you could have left the vocals off and then repeated it with the vocals which would have taken you to around 46 secs. I like how you have built the percussion back with the drums but i have always disliked that drum loop so could have lived with the percussion throughout.

Its probably good to think next time how the mix progresses from a listeners point of view as a form of a four minute journey.

But another valiant effort to have found time to create it . Good job Ess

Thanks for these very well thought and intelligent comments. The lyrics are very important to me , but what we can do on this site is make a comparison to the original. However this is a remix. But if it was was the original we could make no comparison. If the remix finds a new audience through style the message is further extended.

I would ask Shockbabe and Thukol to hum and think about the melody of `Whats Going On' by Marvin Gaye. Without the lyrics it is one of the sweetest melodies of all time. The difference is that there you have nothing to compare it to. But lyrically it is one of the most depressing ever written. Yet that song has been covered by hundreds of people, the original is a fresh as ever, and its message is of equal importance to us all today.

So Have Mercy, that aim was my intention. It is this bitter , sweet, sad melancholy i was aiming for here. Personally i think it works but thanks again to everyone for your views. :-)

Really nice mix. It sounds like you put extra vocals in and they work really well.

Wildnoises phase comment is relevant because there are a lot places where mono signals still appear such as in televisions and when Little Axe comes to make the video to this your going to have to redo it :-)

Missed this 3rd mix here. Love it, very disembodied poets. Kerouac indeed. Liked your notes too. All very stylish without trying

1 feather from a vulture with rabies, i know where this bird lives.

At last here is Rizkey G.

Really nice job with the vocal arrangements delaying the lead. A simple understated mix in the Al Green mould. Very Reverend indeed. :-)

Love the little twist as it fades as if its going into another track. Lots of colours and sounds feels different but close to the original .

Nice One :-)

Great job. Was wondering when one of these would arrive. Perhaps a bit more creative control over the echo and vox FX in the verses and overall instrument seperation would have pushed this even higher. But a fine job :-)

I'm honoured you put me in your notes, and credit the other mixers suggestions, i think there is the root of some real community post comp thats good to be a part of here.

The mix is chilling ( not chillin )leaves you with a very odd feeling and it kept making me think of images from Blue Velvet for some reason. The simple changes grow the track and the tension hightens as it progresses. So yes worth reposting :-)

Ok Analog here it is man , for me your best mix on this site to date. Do more like this please :-)

Thanks for the all the comments on this mix to date and Lukaspauka if i get chance i'll take my Hats off to you ya :-]

Far out Wolf a few mixes have gone to this dub groove but this is wild. Its a construction site of audio tearing the building down indeed. Liked it.

Really good mix. I can see the Trevor Horn thing as this has a very Seal feeling about and in some of your chord choices. I could see Seal doing this version. :-)

The mark of a good musician / mixer is to appreciate anothers view on their work and just try it. Nothing is lost and maybe something is gained. hHere i think its gained a lot and like it.

Great mix Mercy. Could have played with the reverb balance a bit on parts and brought some of the instrumentation closer to the front to the mix but style wise its great .

I cant get past the low pitch voice here. It might have been more effective to mix the original pitch in with the lower octave and then even take one an octave higher. Its a dark mix but a little to gimmicky imho but great to have yet another version of this on the site as they seem to be coming very slowly. :-)

Tons of ideas and stuff going on in here. Its all very New Power Generation / Prince. Great mix Tatty

****:-)

You get such a fab sound analog and ya know ime a fan , top job man. :-)

If anything the rest gives you a chance to listen to this with fresh ears. Some of the chords in the verse dont hang togther to well for me but the Chorus is great very original. The mix feels a little over compressed but nice job.

Good to know people are still having a go at this I think i am monkeyed out :-)

Really nice reminds me of Cameo and now Outkast who have borrowed from that groove. Great Job and first class sound :-)

Interesting work, The note thing seems to be outstanding here if you had just twisted it or moved it around it would have added to the tension. This mix is like a visit to the dentist Gas and Air :-)

Nice mix, I would have halted or broke down the rythym at a few key points to add weight and create some pick ups here and there but a good job :-)

Great track, mad mix, i love it, you could have put a whip crack in somewhere , and that sounds like a Yamaha doing that little solo :-]

` And you're still a winner in my book'

and mine :-)

Yea the hats are interesting here i have said in a thread that i didnt think to long or hard about this mix and don't consider any of these mixes to be final, i just enjoyed working with this great voice in that classic sort of blues style.

There was a reluctance in me to make it retro and go all the way so thats, hence the hats and why the little techy samples are in it to try and update the approach . If there was an image i had for this mix then it was INXS, the mixture of rock and electronic bits. There is also a voice `oo yeah' after every line, dogs barking and all sorts of odd sounds i just threw it all in.

What i am really appreciating here is the balanced comments on this mix and encourages me to do more

thanks. And as for a single Chris, i agree with you totally as i would of course. LOL :-)

Thanks for your comments, i started a thread 121234 you might want to look at and add to :-)

Thanks for those suggestions to be honest i didnt think to hard about the arrangement i just got on with it but they are good ideas. This is why i think we need a direct channel to pass stuff back and forth rather filling up the comments box here.

Have mercy made a drum suggestion to , so when i get chance ill make the changes and upload it again as the RW band mix. :-]

Very nice job. The development of the harmony lines is really good. The drums played , programmed ? but very good. That's why you were in my STM top ten :-)

Hey there Marshy. Thanks for that. You and PG should go to the races together and see how many winners you can back. :-]

@ Scarbourgh. For someone to spend time transcribing Enos for me is a great honour .

Of course i am aware of the debate regarding the use of a 'tierce de picardie' but with a quartet it would seem fitting.

The use of it here is to provide a note of hope that jealously is not eternal and can be overcome.

If you can record the piece and upload it, i would really love to hear the result and thanks for taking time to comment so fully. :-)

Really nice mix Radio. Its funny when you listen to this as it challenges the whole idea of what is modern music. If its made now but has a period sound then so what. Nice job, pity he got up and walked off at the end.

Singers eh no commitment :-]

See Dogg i told you these here ` special mixes ' should be in a special place and now they are. I think the next mix pack might suit you really well and i look forward to hearing what you do with it :-)

A really big thank you to everyone who placed any of my mixes into their top ten and left supportive comments over the months. To even come any where near the result i got, is surprising to me considering the high quality of the mix material on this site.

Really well done , and congratulations Multiman :-)

I had no idea compressors can work this hard :-)

Totally underground and overblown in its feel, needs playing loud. I like.

Another mix without notes so dont know how you made it , but ill go three on this one :-)

Really nice chilled mix Ximer. Has the potential to break the groove down to the feel you start with at the beggining and build it up again, maybe then with a detour but the rythym is unsuual and very hookey .

Pity this was not in competition time as i think it would have faired really well :-)

Hey ,its a great mix. It's not about being generous. Its not even about being pro but the thought and sucess of what you have done. You made the chorus into a real hook for me. The swingy beat is what a few have tried but not done it this well. And you stuck to the melodic lines of the original in a very new way. I just feel like getting out of the way when the steam train comes through :-]

With your other mix, i dont think this pair would be out of place on a Scissor Sisters album. A New urban groove next to a kitch retro disco track.

It's also because your two mixes are so different. Thats the power of a mixer sticking up a few efforts. You get to see what they can do in different settings.

I'm glad your going to do more, you've got a lot of skill. :-)

E&OE ( only have to put this when your around )

Thanks for your kind comments and question . No one has ever asked that so its a first. It raises the whole topic of what is a remix and who is it being made for. All of my remixes have just given me an opportunity to try out this vocal in a different setting.

If the job in hand was to introduce PG to a younger or new audience i would go down the dance route, as an alternative for him to sing you might say the Darwin mix or Origin. If it was a demo for another artise to do. then any of the other mixes might fit. Valium is my fav as i didnt think about it and just played.

But Steamed Monkey has the most potential. That one was a challenge as i didnt start till Sat afternoon and finished at eight. Inside the idea are a lot of things i didnt get chance to do.

Now you have got some time i do hope you try the other mix packs and the new one when it arrives :-)

Doghouse thanks, I have a feeling you and i are in similar fields although i also have have a visual element.

It would be nice one day to find out more about you and what you do as its clear your stuff is truly top drawer. But that's of course if you dont start callin me names and promise to get me a phrase book for that southern drawl :-]

Analog you may have seen this mix in my top 10 for a long time now , but truth is i could have put any of your stuff in, even the non STM as i think your one of the most commercial and consistent mixers with a well developed style on the site.

See , when you wish up on a Realworld star, here it is.

I've had mixes refused its no biggie,i would think listening to its not what you have created that earned is refusal but the difficulty of deciding which mix pack to file it under. :-]

Anyway your up and here now.:-)

I am making the rounds now after this monkey deadline thing is over to go to the people whom I have most admired on this site.

Whilst for me your mix is still a little busy I recognise that it has been created through a lot of hard work and real ability.

As a producer I have to stand outside my preferences and not aim to please myself but the audience the work is intended for. So Itâ??s been great for me to see this mix find its audience over the short period of time it has been here.

The second thing I would like to say is that I have rated every competition monkey mix on the site and left comments on as many as I could. But Pat here I think has outshone everyone as I have found very often PSO has got their first and left supportive and genuine comments on what seems like hundreds of mixes.

For me that deserves a full bright five stars that no one can zero rate.

Loveshadow.

30 days ago, i was the first to comment on this mix . Now this monkey thing is over and we have 740 or so monkeys. While this may have been a `first mix' it is still so much better than many i have listened to. A final well done Andreas :-)

This is more than a mix. It represents the coming of an age in the human spirit when a life time of the shadow finds it's way into the light

Why ? because Ess had a drive to create music in the same way that many of us have been driven to. She faced a huge technical and personal hill that a lot of us would stroll up in seconds but made damm well sure she was not left behind and so eventually made it to the top.

This is the first attempt at the climb but listening to it now two months later and in comparison to some of the 700 or so mixes here it easily stands its ground and betters many of them. It is genuine and it is a creative achievement that i applaud.

It is made with the legacy of PGs music rooted firmly within her and is a beacon, well lit upon that hill top, that signals to all that music is at the heart and reach of everyone. To create it, all you need , is to begin.

For this reason this mix will be in placed in my top ten and remain there.

Loveshadow

Pity you missed the comp date with this its a simple but damm fine mix . Have it my favs anyway.

A mind blowingly, astounding and inspirational mix. So simple in its seemingly formal approach but seasoned with technical fruits and delicate emotion throughout.

I am at the altar here and worshipping :-x

I would like to ask something of any one who leaves a comment from this point on.

I placed the 7 second sample of Steam at the front of this mix so that RW could be clear as to its source, expecting if they had a problem for it to be rejected.

The question that interests me is that that sample appears in the background of 60% of this mix. If i had not put it at the beginning would you have known it was there ? :-)

and thanks to all have commented so far :-)

Although it seems you missed the deadline for this comp im glad you uploaded this anyway. Its an agressive funky mix. Nice :-)

I would be grateful if you would remove my valium mix from your favourites as it seems to contradict you view of me thanks.

You asked me to comment and your mixes and so i have. If you can post a safe email address or ask the web master to forward it to me i can show you a place where some of very best of this style is on show that i think you would enjoy. :-)

Whats nice here is that you prove you can create music in a formal style. Therefore to depart from this to your other mixes show you have made a conscious decision. :-)

I think this is the most succesful of your soundscapes but all of my previous comments apply.

If you live in a city these sounds are around us all the time. To create them here is like bottling it and putting them on the site.

The complexity of this is perhaps hard to judge because whilst there may be a logic and structure to the piece for the creator it could be heard by the listener as a random collection of sounds that anyone could do. I dont think that is the case here but maybe you see the point.

Its like poetry. For many it seems irrelvant in this ipod generation like world. But when people discover it they will never leave it. :-)

I have written on similar styles over the months that the success of experimental mixes very much depend on the palette of sounds you start with and the mood of the listener at any one time. Each piece is an impression and is the sum of the colours and strokes you have made with the sound. When music breaks the boundaries of genre it is neither good nor bad if such a thing ever exists.

To create landscape of sound that lasts for seven minutes , gives the listener the choice to take a short stroll or a much longer walk in to it. :-)

There are only a few mixes on this site that i come back to and say i wish could of helped mix this for you. The simplicity of the words you have chosen make it sound like a Hymn. Very nice :-)

I am the same. I really value realistic comment its the best part of this site. But sometimes you need to stand on tip toes here to get above the BS.

So I am assuming then that this is all your performance, if so its a first class job lots of respect for your obvious ability :-)

I think someone likes this one :-]

It takes just ten people to bring this beautiful mix to a two star. A sad closing epitaph for this great site :-(

And a derserving Hot Pick on the eve of this crazy hazy competition.

This is why this man is an artiste in his own right and not just a mixer and will alwys have my support not matter what he does . Straight to the heart

Your friend Loveshadow. :-x

Love it. Love it. Love it. Could have had a better bottom end but the rise chords and emotion throughout with the strings are fab. :-)

Nice mix, would have found a more solid snare and kept a hi hat ticking somewhere but a nice job :-)

really really really like this. Would have got the drums more in your face but its great. But just two mins ???? oh well :-)

Nice job a rebuild of the original kind of with new funky bits. :-)

I thought the snare was bit loud :-]

Another measley one starer has been here so ill have to go 4. The piano riff is a bit load . But i love the `too much at stake section' . very good :-)

Its a nice mix however your vox are bit far too away . As you have gone for a live drum sound a few more breaks and accents in the drum pattern would have helped. Glad you made it up in time :-)

If this was done on my account then brilliant, you have to agree its sounds much better. Love it.:-)

You should get together with Wildnoise ( another mixer ) and form a band you are both on similar less travelled road :-)

You sound like a fun person . Thanks for half the sample the false ending threw me wacky. :-)

Definately the best mix uploaded recently besides mine of course :-)

Fabulous sound and your no begginner. The breakdown was especially good. Show off :-)

Who would only give this one star ?. X-{

Great mix with a very natural easy performance ill have to give if four to get you going :-)

Lovely mix the snares a bit in yer face for your pretty background, pushing the vox back, but a nice feel.:-)

This makes it to the VIP rebuild club. Some of the parts are bit loud. But you did a good job at putting it together :-)

Hi Mark there were lots of stuff in the forums over the months about the tuning and line up of the files

its a learning curve but it sounds like you did fine here :-)

Great Drum Sound, Bit of a half time original . Solid and very nice guitar licks :-)

Crazy little mix but good. Sort of Electro Morris Dancing. Nice :-)

Really nicely done . I think you could have created a less programmed drum track and made it stronger when needed. Some nice harmonies to the lead vocal. Liked it .

Some people are moaning about bandwith but as this shows 4.5 is enough when its done right no lack of quality here. :-)

Well loud, wall of sound. But i can still hear everything so good job. :-)

Very good another specialty mix. The groove in the second verse is infectious. Nice :-)

You got it up in time but a pity coz the guitar bit is really nice.:-)

I put a four star vote on this but a someone had done a lower vote. If your new here you'll get used to it. :-)

Really like this but would have liked a bottom end kick or bass or both. Kept thinking it would do it and didnt. Got a Tomita feel, nice :-)

You seem to have done everything except think about the vocals. They are overpowered by everything else. if you had got them better positioned i would have rated it higher :-)

Thought after the opening bars it was going to be the same as a lot of other mixes here so was surprised when it went where it did. Nice :-)

Interesting arrangement very Beatles somehow. There is distortion but that might be a low res MP3.

Different. :-)

It frightend me when it started. You have no notes so cant say if this is your first mix or what but its up and listened to.

Tremedous job, thats just skillfully done, great vocal arrangement. :-)

Fabulous sound great use of the elements nice job.Would have like to hear the snare and kick a bit more upfront but a great job.:-)

Nice fat sound and no pc eh. You got it together well for that then. :-)

Shame you got here late. The vox are miles away, and have a few artifacts from the slowing down i know its hard to avoid. But great for an afternoon i just uploaded one i started at 2 today and finished at 8 well see if gets thru. But a Nice mix

Great mix and groove but the vox are a bit to edgy.

and get lost in the second half The backbeat is cool though.:-)

It has a Scissor Sisters retro groove about it. Should have kept thos animals in the cage. :-)

Well done

Impossible to dance to but you knew that anyway. :-)

I think i can see why you'd get a Parental warning on this but its not entirely clear. At least i listened twice to see why.

Some fat radical beats here.Totally sic :-)

Started off really well with the girl thing but then dropped back and felt a bit restrained. A lot of mixes throw in clever production ideas halfway through and change style which means you some bits work and not others but it loses your audienece imho. Perhaps it would have been better to have had 2 or 3 mixes up here rather than one. Good production sound though.:-)

It has an AHA feel in it . It changes a bit to much for me from one style to another but a good job

A bit more work with the vox would have cracked this mix, but well done

The second mix of its kind today. Beautiful performance. Timing is impeccable and the phrase development with and around the original melody is superb. My only thought is that should have ended at around 3 mins or so as the remainder seemed a bit indulgent.

But Very impressed :-)

Woah i like this Thin Lizzy / Police style. The bass line could be higher and perhaps more in content to develop the energy. In a mix as this with only 3/4 band parts they need all the instruments to fill the sound. Whose on Drums ? A very good mix put it in my favs. :-)

Got a B52s flavour about it. Bit more production values and it would be up there. :-)

If this comp has done anything for you it has allowed you to experiment and i like for that reason i like it.

You have probably broke new ground with this mix i just hope the others dont bury you in it.:-)

there are a lot of mixes on this site and its a good effort but wont compare to a lot of stuff here. Good beggining :-)

The lack of Kick drum early on makes this feel like its not gonna get going , then the additional drums seem out of place. One or the other would have been better. But well done :-)

Bit to quantized and programmed but like the chorus section. well done

Nice use of the bass line but flips personality at

44 secs and for me thats where the entire mix should have been centred on as its great. If the tune was all of that groove id be 5 ing it. Nice Work :-)

A bit to bare for me but a good effort. :-)

lovely job. The reverb balance is too not right on the vox putting PG at the back when he should be up front sitting with you at the piano but a great performance and nice re edit of the vox timing. Having to give you four for originality. :-)

Nice nice, its better than maybe you imagine. The chorus is totally sweet. I dont know if PG is to minor aaginst Maj7 groove. But Very Very Very Cool Mix.

I am putting four on it :-)

This is a nice fat mix but is totally mono.I know i seem to go on about this but there are two speakers and in dance mix that panning abilty and space can add a lot of energy to a mix like this. You will also find that a lot of freqencies will cancel each other out. I would love to hear this in stereo as the groove is brilliant. :-)

Yan Hammerish type of mix. The vox are well placed as a lot of mixes seem to get a good music mix and cant place the vox but you have done it well.

A simple mix that is probably of great benefit to you . Well done

Music Junkie i have a lot of admiration for you and your ability the range of your mixes is outstanding.

Great to have some else who is not held by musical boundaries. :-)

There is an emotional touch with this so well done. It also feels like an odd Jagged Edge track till the beats drop. Like the fact that you have got a more natural drum sound on it when it matters. Nice overall sound. :-)

Ok not sure if this is the same mix as your last one but my comments apply here is it too slow ?

Sorry if its meant to be this tempo just a question

One of those mixes where you are not sure if its running too slow or meant to be like it. Odd at this tempo would be better faster. But Well done

Looks like you were up late finishing this so well done. Theres some nice ideas that keep changing here that show off what you can do so good value if you look at it that way. :-)

Its hard when synth sounds like this dominate the mix because the sounds themselves are so familiar. If you had found some new sounds it would have worked better. Well balanced mix though :-)

Nice dark urban groove but there are not enough vocal parts for me to really make it work.

and Very mono.

Good effort.

far out its like a tribal FatBack Band. There is some frequency that sounds like a jet engine that gets a bit annoying but like this.

Hey hugo came back for a listen to this, its a great job man. Have to top ten it even though i know everyone on the RW planet will. Hope you stick around and get some more stuff up here as id really like to hear it.

Stay safe , Loveshadow.

I dont know if you Ever heard Eddie Murphys flower power album its like this. Nice :-)

Intelligent , articulate and musically sensitive even un-mixed its way ahead of the pack.

Another great mix that will make the fur fly on the little green monkey :-]

Nice Job, could have added some more adlibs in the second verse and kept growing , built the drums intead of having it all amble along nicely . but still liked it :-)

I would have played around with the tempo of this rather slowing the vocal phrases. Its still really good but doesnt quite lift off. Somehow it feels like an interlude into another track . Pretty sounds though :-)

I think i could have rated this higher its the best out of 20 mixes or so but the vocal answer back made it irritatating. Its good groove and mix without that vox thing.

I reminds me of early Everything but the Girl,at the start. Nice job i dont mind the up pitched vox its a blue print for another vocalist.:-)

Sounds like a Eurovision Contest entry and would probably win aswell :-)

I posted on another genre mix that these should all be collected together in one place as they show the musical skill of a lot of the people who have characterised the Monkey. :-)

Freakin Loud House, Glad your not next door.:-]

PG not quite sittin on the chords but a powerfull sound. Get him off and put another vox on it.:-]

Yea it made me smile and after a night of monkey mixes i needed it. My Kids loved it so i put it in my favs and gave you five stars for keeping them occupied a feat in itself:-)

This should have been a Hot Pick. No sense of humour those Web Guys :-]

i think you have xphrase ?

Nice dry fat mix :-)

A lot of french friends . Starts like monkey in twilight zone . Big sound though

Nice. I notice that most of the better dance mixes are using a virus product It must be catching :-)

its Ghostnations ballet. i can see all those fit young girls monkey outfits and gabriel masks. :-)

its all a bit muted like its playing next door. So hard to hear some of the detail. But what i can hear sounds ok :-)

kind of three mixes in one so on that basis good value :-)

Big snare ! Another bass riff would have got your groove cooking. Nice quality mix though

like i said before i think you like this riff :-)

I think you like this riff :-)

As with your other mix . If anything this vocal is wasted on this beautiful arrangement. I love the subtle touch of close encounters of 3rd kind.

There are a lot of composers whom you have listend too i would bet that Williams would have been one of them. :-)

This is the same as your other mix no ??

Oh well rated it anyway

Dont know if its at the wrong speed or if you took it down. good start

Tricky dub acid flavour mix with a doll or a performing frog. Very Nice :-)

Very Trojan, Very Mono, Very Lee Scratch

if i see this carlos pasted comment agin ill freak.

Nice controlled brooding mix. Drums sound great:-)

This makes it into the VIP rebuild club well done :-)

Every thing starts somewhere i said this to a mixer months ago and shes now president of the world :-)

This carlos guy does my head in pasting the same comments on a ton of mixes and giving nothing.

This is a sweeping, well crafted mix. I especially like how you have equed and treated the vox to sit perfectly in the mix. The military rolls are a first and i love the pick up at 3 mins :-)

Not much of the monkey left i think your mix eat him :-) Nice vibe.

great sound. Interesting move to drop the groove and come back but it works. hard.:-)

fat groove, vox could do with centering as it leaves a hole in the mix. Very different feel though

I liked this simple hookey groove.

Very

Very

Very

Very

Nice

You pulled me in and kept me there. Needs a bit more control with the arrangemnt but thats easy to fix:-)

A new VIP member of the rebuild club well done :-)

Opened like a news ident and then got complicated. Nice job.

Missed this one, F*** its great . Best four to the floor dance mix on the site. It has to be five and a contender for my 10. Outstanding job :-)

Nice mix Abeck. Listend to the end and thats getting harder to do I got a 1969 Yamaha SA 70 it sounds like this creamy man :-)

great groove going on here and if youd cut the vox to it with some interest id be fiving it. :-)

So whacked its kool. And what i bet is that you could write all the notes down and play this live.

:-)

cute cute , but oh so very fashionable and stylish great catwalk groove keeping this safe :-)

Doors 2006 :-)

Opened like Rods Maggie, would have liked you to have continued like that but the big rock groove seemed to be to a bit posey. Nice mix though

A lot of 4 to floor on this site now but this one has a bit of somthin new. Like it:-)

What no one here fore three days oh well i am.

Its quite an innocent gamey sound if you follow. But nicley and skillfully grows into the original flavour so i can add you to the original rebuild club well done :-)

Its a great version but not sure how you did it sounds like you have tried to keep up with PG in parts.

Perhaps would have been better to do your thing with a little more pedal and arrange him to you. Would have liked to help you do this as its very original :-)

fat and sic needs a Biggie Tupac style rhyme and less of PG and his singing :-)

Compressed to F*** but nicely done :-)

here you are again cant leave it alone can you

Nice to have you back :-)

Good effort it lacks a bit of originality but you have mastered it well:-)

Ok yea, well friggin done, ill give it five, just like that .

and in my favs and poss my 10 just like that.:-)

There are a lot of mixes that mix the beats from full to half time and upset the listening rythym. i would have liked you to stay in one groove and uploaded two mixes in each speed. But a fat sound none the less :-)

A very mono affair and a bit all happening at once but you say you had fun and thats what this is all about.:-)

The opening reminded me of Tomitas pavanne and then went all reaggae unusual mix of styles but i liked it. Would love to hear a Tomita type take on this though your half way there and still two days to go :-)

Hi Stevie you dont need to come and get me to tell you can do this shit standing on your head, ime off in the sub depths helping the fruity loops and reason 2 people to the top of the pile.

If i had done any thing with this it would have been to drive the drums into a real or solid sound at some point and powered the mix into the end. its an enormous groove though. Theres a pool of mixers

id love to correspond with one to one on this site and your one of them.

Now excuse me while i go and find some more one and two starers i may have missed :-)

Man how do you do these drums they sound well good.:-)

Totally original blend here, compared to what i dont know so thats good :-)

Hey at last a four to floorer with some interest.

The compression has beat the dynamics out of your mix but its still good :-)

Agree lovely guitars a bit more work with the vox would have cracked it :-)

i dont think it will be anyones first dance at a wedding

its 2006 magical mystery tour

:-)

Hi pidjy didnt know you had another version up i said before that i could not do this, so you beat me, nice job :-)

Well produced sound but there are so many four to the floor mixes now its hard to seperate them. perhaps a bit of twist on the vocals would have given this a lift. :-)

Nice Job another style quirkey mix that shows off the players ability which here is high. :-)

the drums are bit wishey washey if you know what i mean :-)

But a great mix

That should read TICK not ick :-)

And all i thought you got from switzerland was chocolate and clocks. theres a sense of a ick but nothing sweet. Stark mix disturbing , well off piste but a 3 :-)

Whoa very original nothing like it here. Skillfull speeding of the lyric lines g great n noiz :-)

Familiar chords here can't think where i have heard them before. The vox get a bit lost but not a bad job. :-)

Frappish for sure needs a bit more in the vox presence but like your styling

Oh my , Very fresh thanks to RW for this search option helping me find this . There is an underlying emotion in this that i would have mixed even further to the front but its a great and beautiful mix and added to my favs and might make my 10. :-)

great mix. I want some smoor :-)

Bob Jamesey Taxi, ish. simple but effective

Bit of a Soft Cell Mark Almond thing very moody.:-)

It would be nice to get all these specialty type mixes if thats a word i can use into one place as it shows a great range of musicality and i wonder about the person who did this one ? :-)

The good thing about this is you take the vox into the place that suit the music. Too many dance beats just put the original vox on a groove like this and they just dont sit, here they do and it works really well. love the filter off to the fade .:-)

Scissor sisters / goldfrappish. its a few steps away from being a serious hit. Like it a lot :-)

Great production well done. Dont quite like the seperation of the lead vox as it puts a hole in the middle of the mix but a nice job.

im so glad RW have given this search facilty as i dont think i would have found this . great mix corworld. :-)

Something about that opening tremolo work makes it feel like a 70s prog theme The Persuaders or The Champions interesting mix :-)

I love the opening and wish you had developed it but it over reaches then. The reverb takes the vox to the back and is a little off time. good effort though.

Here's one that got away nice beat and devlopment. If you had never heard the original vox and music you would easily say it was this.:-)

the thing a 52 secs is blinding the vox are not happenin to well but thats a well cool vibe. :-)

Elegant angular interpretation fmscot.

Trite LOL :-]

Nearly took my speakers off the wall.A few pads would have blown this up :-)

Interesting yet old converstaion going on here re copyright if you check the T and C they do affect your copyright some what, but you have a mix up here so good for you. Bit wooden for me.

Your gentler less programmed side rules for me but a nice drum track here though.:-)

bit of retro backin track and well done but not quite connecting with PG vox all that well. :-)

Its a bit over quantized but a decent effort. :-)

Hey Rymero ime glad this search thing has been added as i missed this. This is great man. A few vocal twists would complete it but a cheeky ass moving groove. :-)

Radio Times your a musical nutter but a damm clever one :-]

This is well composed and well recorded. Nice job

its a good start and worth another go keep it up

heres a mix from the pre 4.5 meg days interesting you can see how that limit changed the upload tracks in length and arrangement. Cool job

Schras, firing bullets got one stuck in the chamber or has fired a blank :-]

Missed this and the search thing has enabled me to find it, cool. What people always miss is that a lot of new chart artistes produce replica tracks on their albums and the skill of someone like Schras helps them do it. :-)

Very nice of Bitley to say almost 2 months ago at the top there my stuffs elegant :-) and if thats what me and Castro are then so be it.

I missed it back then the seach button helped me find it. and in a word ELEGANT :-)

For an august mix i would agree but i goes to show how many slip thru as i am here over a month later.

Not an easy mix to listen to but a mix none the less.

This mix came up in my not rated search but then i realised i had voted on the other version. Your are and explorer Radio Times and i like that.

Bippy poppy groove like it, missed it a while back found it now

heres an old posted mix i welcome to the VIP remake club well done.:-)

Some of these early mixes are the foundation for recent uploads that have borrowed from the idea and style so as this is the one of first rock versions its worth rating on that basis alone :-)

Not enough song for me but nice eltro african type beat.

Bit of a basketball sort of sound one on one style.

Empty but odd .

Supertrampish never a favourite band of mine. but still listenable.

There was a goth band i used to produce that were like this you cant get it till you see 300 students freakin to this kind of thing. Would have blown up if youd hit with a beat .

Did the search thing and found i hadnt commented or rated this i like you more daring off the wall mixes as you know. But your another great multi mixer so praise due. :-)

Did this search thing RW have added and Marshy this did my head in for a moment coz i knew i had commented on it but couldnt find my words until i realised you had another version.Phew. Still nice to hear again and a final chance to thank you for your support and mixes.

Loveshadow :-)

trippy musical box thats it :-)

Chunky mix bit overcompressed a bit, and the vox are out a couple of places but good.

Nice soundscape and vox effects

good use of the pack

trippy sci fi job interesting think you could have gotten in a few orginal samples elswehere, but good.

Atoa i am so glad you have entered these mixes they given me back the reason why i came to this site in order to share music, technique and abilities.

I know you have had to build the vox to this groove but they work, not perfectly i might add, but your music is fab. Theres a lot i could compare it too, but the structure at 3.07 is very Dave Greenslade. Thanks for dragging out an old mix and sharing it i am putting 5 on it again for originality and performance :-)

Sounds like this was created by a familiar hand and i am good at spotting technique. Ill call it

Lalo / Mcdonald, raise a hing leg and just say woof woof,:-)

As has become my practice i return to a mix that i rate highly hours later to see if i still feel the way i do. No change in my view at all except that this has the potential to have really built in the second half rythmically and returned to the glassy opening but still thats no critism of your mix :-)

Your a great player.,Ouzo i think we share a common ground somewhere. Pg could have done with a little tuning to get him bang on with your playing but its skillfully done. Nice work again. :-)

Stunning , love those beautiful freeform shapes. I try to be realistic with my votes and its long times since i gave a five. The voxs could have done with a bit more thought in treatment and placement but as four people have put this at a one star or less then ime going five. This mix surprised me :-)

I didnt judge , belive you me i hear enough stuff, i listened to the whole thing and rated it but when you have 80 other mixes to listen to theres not a great deal of time :-)

With a toning down of some of the sections in the middle you would have the perfect backdrop for the Monkey Ballet, a piece of modern expressionist dance.

This has a very familiar and skilled hand. I wonder ?

Very nice more focus on the vocals would have been good. Drums noted as above

Nice ill, just say woof woof :-)

Blistering loved it .cant play this while driving i have a bit of beast on wheels and it would have me in jail or in ditch. :-]

Loveshadow was here first, My fourth mix tonight found after being here what looks like a day with no rating, listens, or comments.

This has some nice ambient touches at the start then becomes the original. Sort of two styles in one. Nice

I think we should start a seperate VIP club for those who have rebuilt the original. I have commented on similar mixes, find them if you can coz they apply here aswell. Great job

Another day old mix with 20 listens and no comments. Ok so i am here to say:

I really like this. Although thats one hell of a phone call.

And dont excuse your English its much better than my Italian ( that is i think you are Italian ) :-)

This is probably what YES would be sounding like if they were still together and Rick wasn't a stand up comedian :-]

Whilst its a crazy sound it has something. What that something is will take a team of lab rats to unravel.

I think you suffer from making things overcomplicated but you get a great fresh sound. Liked your other mix better, but cant understand why after a day no one has listened to it ?

This shows you how many mixes are getting uploaded /ignored as after one day here this has been listend to just 9 times, not rated or commented on. well ime here at least

This was sounding good to me up till 2.06 when someone plugged the guitarist in and then it kind of got overcomplicated. Its a got a gibson brothers vibe but then the guitar came back at 3.59. but a chunky sound.

Hope someone else comes before Sept 30 :-)

Its clear you have got a lot of skill and are no beginner. How ever i wanted to like this more than i did as it sounded so good. But you hold onto the bass note for so long i was willing it to change. In a club maybe it would work better but lacked any surprises for me. Killer production though.

I came back here and i dont do that often. I kept imagining what things you were seeing while you did this it must have made for a very individual experience and soundtrack to your journey and that i think is an expensive, but great idea for a video. :-)

This is another mix and learn job, beleive you me the people that dont or cant do this will fall behind compared to what you have learned in doing this.Ive seen a lot of people posting on other mixing sites saying they cant do this. The bridge sections and end are a missing a few bits but other wise nice job

Schras ime so glad you did another. I saw you say somewhere you were out of here. Listening to your mix set is a pleasure as i can see your very adept ,cross style abilities :-)

Waiting till 1.40 to get going was perhaps not a good idea if you are looking to get instant listen appeal. But a nice dark sound.

Absoloutley nothing wrong with you mixing abilities

except at 2.15 it all sort of stops with not a lot to keep me interested. A big atmosphere would have been better perhaps coming back harder and bigger. Good sound overall though :-)

fab mix drone. Some very accomplished vox edits. I just wish you would have got going with it as the beat drops stop the energy and perhaps brought some element of the beats closer to the front of the mix as you did at the end, but very Nice :-)

I love the whole idea of this being done on the move, two of mine were created in the same way. I do think though the vox in the centre do sound like someones calling for the arrival of a late passenger. Its bit bright overall in parts possibly coz you have made it on headphones but i liked it.:-)

Nice groove here. needs a bit more work with the vox for me to sit with the cool atmosphere you got goin on. But out of 30 mixes though i only could stay with 4 till the end and this is one of them :-)

I think this is a good remix but the vox placement is to far in back ground and so feels secondary to the mix. Its easy to cure it so nice job overall.

Heres the mix i nearly did at the start of this gig. If anything i would have prefered less of the original song and more of you or whoever and the ryhme. Makin it more your tune than Pgs. What you lack in your overall mix sound you make up for in ideas. Feelin it though Prim :-)

You know i like you stuff Ober. People say why so many and heres a mix that shows you why. It takes time for stuff to grow and develop in whatever style. You get free of the expected and place you self into the work. Its your best to date and the best industy whatever you call it shit on the site. Nice, very nice :-)

Outstanding Ouzo. Loses its way a bit at 3 min but comes back. The first mix out of 15 that i wanted to play to the end. Not too sure if this is you on your own or live or prgrammed drums but theres a real unity in the performance.:-)

Your not going to pick up many votes. But i think you have done first class job. If you were just doing a fresh replica then there's only one bit you missed and thats the kick drum goes four to the floor in the chorus and bridges sections. But i think anyone one that puts this jigsaw puzzle of bits together as acurately as this deserves at least a DVD. Top Job :-)

Nicely flavoured, bit of a demo for your obvious abilites rather than a straight mix.

Had a look at your site some good stuff there too plus( some d f a**)

:-)

Hey Guys, guy, girl , girls whatever, thanks for stopping by on so many mixes quite an undertaking in itself. Great to know your open to it all. And as for that roadtrip well you just might be surprised . Allman Bros, Doobies , Poco, Eagles, Creedance Clearwater they are all on my shelf. :-)

and as for Huey well yea but the Brits wouldn't know how to pronounce that :-]

There you go chateau give them what they want.

It's a very original mix and the little new additions to the voice are just enough to keep the interest going.

I dont know if your are French but its got a very French / Jarre feel about it. Nice

6 hours after my first comment i come back to listen to this again distracted by those damm star anomolies.

This really is very, very good. I am a cynical old git and ive played, produced and heard a lot of stuff so it takes something special to give me chills. This does it though. Understated and longing, your on the same path as Darwin and i simply wish it was my mix. Loveshadow

I put four stars on this but a previous no rating has downed it a two. It will get more eventually believe me :-)

I did not comment on your last mix as i felt it to be a bit wooden and could not feel you in the mix. But here its different. You have drawn the emotion out in the vocal with your performance so i can now rate it very highly .

PS, I Dont think the audience bit was good idea as it cheapens it a bit so i will just pretend they are not there. :-)

Mojo i can hear you know your stuff. Sonically its a killer, arrangement wise though i didnt know if i was in full or half time. For me it would have been more listenable in one or the other.

Nice fat controlled sound, your in pro tools land though and you can hear it:-)

I actually think the little section is at 1.24 is the most interesting and could be the basis for a full mix. RMX is a good plug in but a few fills played in to add some impact here and there would have built on that Copeland piccolo snare. Nice job though :-)

Its very similar to your other mix so hard to compare the two. If your gonna put up two mixes they should be very different imho if you want people to vote on you.

Ill vote 3 again but if its already no rated it will be averaged at 2. Well done anyway. :-)

There i put three on it its worth at least that and will get you going. Dont expect too much around here.

4 stars to 2 in 16 mins :O=

The vultures gather.

Marshpeople what on earth 9 monkey mixes. I dont feel so alone now :-)

Marshpeople proves again that the development of a lyric, melody or idea can forever evolve if not bound by any prejudice or restriction.

Together we alone have made 21 variations on a theme and i think this variation of yours is one of your best .

I agree it all seems to fit together rather well.

Thanks for uploading this in more ways than one. Loveshadow :-)

Reini ,i know what level your at and you dont need to apologise for what you have done. Its a good start and you have a couple of mixes here now. What i can hear is how you have copied and programmed all of the bass line and several other parts perfectly so well done. :-)

Mix aside i think this is a credible attempt to create an alternative to a mix style already submitted and whilst i might be still looking over my shoulder for a molotov cocktail that might be headed my way off MH i still appreciate the effort.

Cerebral thanks for the spending time in doing this skillfully executed and a real treat to listen to . :-] :-]

Very Tom Brown. Would have liked a bit more sublety and interest in your drum track

but Feeling it Favard :-)

NICE NICE NICE,

lots of old style simple dance filter effects ( i do miss my Akais ) great to hear again on this.

First verse vox are a bit out on timing a minor point though here.

Again NICE NICE NICE :-)

Heres the only thing i can say about this that comments on the mixers ability and style.

Frankies Goes To Hollywood and Trevor Horn.

I think there is the potential here to build a deeper ambience in the drop back but if you want a solid commercial take on a former 80s commercial track here you have it.

( Laser Beams , Laser Beams ) :-)

Cerebral thanks for your comment. your mix first. I love what you have done here. This is one of those mixes where i enjoy the music more than the combination of the vox and music. Having said that it still works. The rythym track is far out i gotta get into some of that myself.

For me, well there is a thread in the forums that says a bit about the time taken and reason for having 12 mixes on here. We all have different ways, speeds and styles of working and this site has lot more going for it than this competition. But if thats all your thinking off then i can think of a lot of reasons why this mix would be chosen over any of mine.

Great Mix :-)

Thanks for all the inspiring comments you have left on Enos to date.

Syd The Kid Ime guessing that means you dont like it ? Oh well not to worry, what you have left is very colourful and looks the audience at my first gig :-]

This is great open ocean. Its a bit mono and could do with opening up get those beats moving around. The pick up at 1.29 is the best bit. There are not many mixes on here i would like to get my hands on and help produce but this is one of them. :-)

Hey gabrielized thanks for your commnent. I know you have been on this site a long time. Are you not tempted to do a monkey mix ?. :-)

With sandboks here, yea its a bit edgey and a bit mono. But you got something goin on here thats good and very original. :-)

Beatles Come Together Bass line eh. Less of the lead would have worked better as it dominates the vocals, interesting mix though.

Nice big fat sexy groove, liking it much but then hate the change at 2,14.to far from the Louis Louis style Hot Choclate opening. Great sound though.

The problem with using VSTs like Groove Agent is that they are so identifiable. So all it sounds like is that you have positioned the wavs and let it play. You need to work harder if you want to keep up with some of the other mixers on here.

You boys have had one too many moonshines. Who's on next the Blues Brothers. Ive got no idea how you made it fit but if you had never heard the original then this could be it. Skillfully done :-)

Just post the name of this bar though so i can get there after the obligatory fist fight. :-]

I like this a lot but i cant tell though if the tracks peaked out at the top end or you meant for it to be that way. Just a slightly cleaner sound would have been better for me . :-)

How can you only do this for 1.50. Stop worrying about the public view and put a full length mix up its great. The drum track alone is worth listening to for 3 mins. :-)

Abdullah, this is one of the most deepest moving mixes i have heard yet on this site to date. It flows with admiration for PG and i feel you have acessed an inner personal space within you to make it happen.

Your observations on the voice too are very accurate

It is not just a mix but a personal extention of you and i am glad you made a full set of notes and hope others read them in conjunction while listening to this work.

Loveshadow :-x

The only bad thing about submitting this mix is you have knocked your last mix into second position in my chart. As this becomes my number one.

Unless of course you have another to upload before the end of this month. Another blend of moods, ideas and landscapes. Beautiful mix :-)

I really dont understand this voting system i put 4 stars on this mix it was at 3 when i did so and then 2 when id voted ?:O=

Now heres someone with white hot musical skill, applying that skill to an idea and musical direction and doing it brilliantly. I could just listen to the drum track edits here on their own. For me the vocal treatment could have been mixed with the orginal as an overlay, but on the whole Fab :-)

I like this a lot Budy so much its in my favourites. Sort of pared down Steely / Donald Fagan. Shades of Weather report here and there.Find the ghost pad in the background a bit odd at times as your groove is nice and tight.

Nice one man really enjoyed this. :-)

You said somewhere that i should have a go at doing 6/8 but i dont think i could to be honest.

This is a tough job and requires a lot of work it works better in some parts than others. But lots of respect for putting up a very different mix :-)

NJARDALOG, its beautiful well done :-x :-)

@ michim if you have a view on what mixers should be doing or what you think is unfair on this site put it in the forum like other people do, or email RW and complain. If they didnt want more than one mix they would say.

Thanks for stopping by :-)

Blimey Pat it looks there has been a party in here on your mix page. Great that your enjoying the experience so much. Your mix is a bit busy for me but its found its audience which is good. If i had to pigeon hole what you have done then its Jeff Wayne War of the Worldsish, i do also hear a strong gaelic ( Riverdance )influence though. Big mix and a big mix page :-)

No No No guys, this tempo is fine. Fast enough to drop in a club but not so out there that your granny can't dance to it at a wedding :-]

Schras has a point maybe about the speed of the vox delivery , so get rid of them .

it would still work for me :-]

Hope the voters pick up on this coz no way is this a two star mix :O=

7th reality i am with you on the vox thing its not so much an eq prob as there are a lot of other issues i have with it. Every mix has been a struggle to place and eq it into the track. The warmer and softer the track the more exposed it becomes.

I have no idea what mic recorded this vocal . I would guess it to be an old AKG 414 or even a dynamic. What i do know is that this is not a single take but a collection of drop ins and even a bounced double track here and there. The eq and mic proximity change throughout aswell.

I have said before all my mixes are demos of an idea not masters. Given the opportunity i think it possible to get another 20 percent quality out of what is there, however i dont possess some of the big toys needed to do that. Thanks for your interesting comment though and to all, who since yesterday , have left their words. :-)

This is very very clever. Samples manipulated skillfully to create a Paul Simon ( you can call me al) type groove. Add some strat picking to this and it would there. nice fat, dry sound , great :-)

Thanks for your recent comments be-art. The one thing that does occur to me as more and more monkey mixes arrive at how much better some of the early mixes are in comparison and this is one of them. :-)

nasty, mechanical slithering , levanthian creature, dragging thru an electric swamp , ridden by a child the winged angel gabriel and followed in its wake by an army of semi naked foot soldiers.

There thats the video done

Nice but the sounds are panned all over the place dont know if that was intentional but its weird on headphones.

Nice and crusty in a few places so good job overall.

Check out my dub mix, not as wild as this but fun to do :-)

It's 24 hours since i uploaded this mix and i now have 24 comments to match. I am knocked out by that fact and glad its liked, i enjoyed making it, so thanks. :-)

@bdhirsch.

Edirol 2496. Logic 5.5 on P.C, 1 gig ram. All keyboards are Albino 2, tweaked from the available presets. The strings are Edirol Orchestra, beats & FX are my own samples played in EX24. All reverbs, compression ect are from Logics core set. 2 channel wav directly exported with no other external mastering.

Only secret ingredient is the vocal treatment.

Thanks for your comment and hope that helps :-)

Cool urban groove, your departure from it at 1.46 was a bit sudden and had me fowarding till you came back to it. You could have gone all the way here dropped PG, occasionally and got a rhyme in. Not many here have mastered, setting PG against a def jam type mix but this is one of the better ones :-)

I was the first to comment on this mix and wont be the last . Stick around Pat it would be boring without your stuff, and about time you got a pro sequencer and ditched Reason:-] :-] :-]

Nice Marshy and no Reason strings. Organ choice is a good alternative pad. If you ever move up to a bigger package as we talked bout you can get plugins to fine tune vocals like these.

If its worth anything to you your in my top ten and staying there :-)

Hit this is again, fabulous mix, the vox could be better placed but fab atmosphere:-)

Thanks for kind comments i love the way you write with an accent. Is it your VO that kicks this mix off i love the tone, its like Grampa Walton. Be nice if we could chat safely somehow outside the site as id like to know more about Ol Doghouse.

G,Night Jon Boy.

G,night Ellen.

G,night Riley

:-]

Spinny i am impressed . To go from your other mix ( first version is the best for me ) to this is great, your as schitz as me . :-]

Great use of the vocal wavs and overall management of the mix.

:-)

Whilst Iâ??ve made it no secret that I am fan of your work it may seem I am biased in my comments but so what. I love this.

The 4.5 Meg file level has proved a bit of blow and I know it affects the arrangement of a mix having to pack all of the elements in a shorter time.

This gets a lot in its time and blends the elements together really well. Shades of another PG song in here as well I feel.

Great work and nice to have you back. :-)

Outstanding Job, my favourite monkey mix of all so far :-)

Thanks for your words again. i have made 11 mixes of Monkey and not one of them is the same. Origin is just my take on the original thats all. You will find similar replica mixes here if you look. I know perhaps you would like more variation but is not 11 enough ? And in the forum. if everyone just voted for themself there would be no competition. Thanks again. Wish i could have wriitten this in french :-)

This is a first in the history of this site but i agree with LD. Blistering original intro that kicks this mix off with real promise and then loses its way. Solid full sound though.

Whilst i still dont like the way you handle yourself LD the pinion comment was funny. If only you had done that with me

Great piece of work technically, performance, edit and mix. Faultless execution. However cant stop seeing images of an animatronic show in disney you know where the one where food starts singing ? So it was hard to take seriously. Fun factor 100% emotional engaement 10%

I reckon listening to this, that if you did a less comical take on the piece it would blow us all away. :-)

Thanks for your comment but you should read the notes on a mix as they may have answered your question as to `why do this.' And if you play the original against my mix you will see that while the arrangment may be the same they sound very different. There have been a lot of people here who have complained that the wavs were either out of tune or didnt line up . I simply showed that it can be done:-)

Thank you for you recent comment. You sound like someone who would be nice to meet in the real world. ( dont worry married with 3 kids :-) )

My words are written in the hope that things everywhere in every way will get better. It starts with hope and in some small way if i can make someone think about caring more then i will do it.

There are no frontiers to the people, music or countries i love. It can all be appreciated and valued. . My music tries to do that. There is no reason to just like one style and not another if you can play then play it all :-) :-)

Its clear i have worked with this vocal many times and heard it thousands more. What people will miss here is how you have changed a few notes here and there to bring it in line with your chord structure. The 3 min ending perhaps would have been good as it contrasts a bit too much to your work before it. A better altenative would have gone to the piano at 5 mins. But a good a mix overall

Ess you only need to ask for help as you know i have done that as best i can in the past. I am not withholding anything from you. It is plain you have made a superb start and i could assume you are doing more as your recent posts have said you may attempt Bliss so how am i to know you need help still.

Secondly I dont think this site is a good portal for advanced technical help as it is cumbersome being designed for simple comment and the forum a public free for all. If you want ask the webmaster if they will forward your web address to me and i will gladly communicate with you off site.:-)

sorry for the errors but its late here and your rating 2.52 thats more than some of my mixes, send me some tips, and that Pooh Bear is mad.keep her / him on leash :-]

Look tis pity , to late we arrive at the palace and princesseq's

(see you didnt think of that word for mix did you you )

basks well in the sun of her new admirers, lets stay a while in expectant hope to steal her eye :-)

Looks like you have found an audience Ess time to burn those legal books farenheit 451 awaits.

Where the frog has curls :-)

Its pretty curly in Germany thanks Andreas

and Hows Claudia ? :-)

wer Vergnügen schenkt, wird Freude erhalten

The pauses help this mix not become too repetitive The only sound that does'nt sit for me is the brass chords at 2mins and on.But otherwise a nice job :-)

Odd but then you knew that.

Lets go for a pigeon hole.

Hawkwind V Philip Glass V Sparks plus guests.

hows that ? :-)

This is one of those mixes that is great until that bloke gabriel starts singing. The section with the girl vocals is great but then it changes and the beat cheapens it.

Its a graceful and splendid attempt that does'nt quite suit Gabriel. But i listened from start to finish which is getting harder to do these days .:-)

Interesting mix, some very Genesis / Doobies riffs happening here you got me searching the albums for which ones.

Nice job

Wow its been a while since you've been around and i left my comment at the top there. Thanks for stopping by and commenting recently,

Jam & Lewis if only :-)

Naren I read your piece in the forum.

Whilst i do not challenge your view it is a shame you will not do another mix. There are a lot of truths possibly in what you say but i think like me you are an industry professional and your view could make a difference. It is also valuable to those who are starting out.

All the marketing / sales and political chat aside it still is a pretty unique idea amongst known artists. Still like your mix , all the best. Loveshadow :-)

Stevie you got a ton of skill and a bucket load of ideas. The most successful bit is the new chorus you made with the guitar strokes. You have a lot going on and it sounds like a bitch to keep under control and keep in its place. A bit more variation in your kick pattern, like the original, would have developed your groove. But a good job overall nice one:-)

It would seem you are afflicted with the wisdom of one of your countryman.

Read Hope and Love. In this place we are nothing but spiders.

http://www.patricklane.ca/newwork.html :-)

First class mixer notes. Faultless and well written, except favoUrite has a u in the UK but that's not your fault.

5 stars Neils and bring an apple tommorow:-]

Just another note of thanks from me for your kind comments and as noted from all around the world.I do appreciate it and they were my reason for starting the `International Thanks' thread in the forum:-)

A remix of your remix it think this is. Would have liked to hear you do another very different version as you obviously have the skill

Really Nice work. Pauses work well and with good use of parts of the samples. If there was anything to say on a mix technical level it would be to pan and open up some of the sounds to keep them away from PG in the centre of the mix. Great job though

Even though your position prevents you from commenting on other mixers work i for one would have appreciated it :-)

Another untamed animal tearing thru the wav pack welcome to the Twilight Zone.Lees at the helm

I happen to like Lees mixes they always leave you with questions. Its challenging and provocative listening as Wollenrw just found out. I am possibly the only one here to have his early mixes in their favourites. Nice to see you back.

Ive just done this so i know its a tough job so well done.:-)

You and Sounda ( another mixer do a search for him/her or find in my favourites) should get together and form a band. :-)

Thanks for you recent comment i have replied beneath it:-)

Andreas thats one of the most original comments i have had on any mix to date.

It really made me laugh thank you :-]

Marsh just list a couple of people you are into here or in the forum so i can go look

I was gonna do the audience thing on my `live at' mix but thought it a little cheesy and glad i didnt as thats what it sounds like here. Its a really good interpretion but lacks a sense of focus of what its supposed to be and where its going. The drum riff is hard though and you should perhaps remix it without the tricks and submit it again.

Perhaps we should just get better seats next time :-)

As for Beatbed hes wrong in thinking that getting PG right in the mix is about how loud he is, its not about that at all but how you phrase and mirror his vocal especially when you are doing a full mix like this :-)

You got a nice fat sound going but thats all as its light on ideas, theres nothing new here and its in amongst a lot of mixes like this so i dont think it will get off the ground.

Hi Beatbed. It's in Dm but everything is well flat as its taken off 20 year old tape. And I should know this the amount of times ive mixed these vox and having just remade the original with all of the samples.

I like this mix its got a magical mytery tour thing going on it my only issue is the destruction of the vocals in the body of the song you got a lot of dirt going on so some other treatment would have been better. It's also typical of a lot of mixes that save some really interesting bit right till the last 20 seconds. Do it earlier and build it again, a lot of listeners here wont stay around that long. Good overall though

Thank you GIM Productions i was trying to work out what the chords were .and yes

Ime never dance again.singalong everyone makes a nice medley:-)

Cant stop giglling over you comment Altersix nice one. thanks also to Pooh and the Monks, isnt that a great name for a band. ???

Again develops really well but is that the Reason strings i can hear Mmmmm. The vox sound roomy to the distance of your backing track its only minor. Your very soundtrack driven and this is Lara Croft territory. . I hope RW create some opportunity for mixers to connect as there is a lot we could all share. Keep it up:-)

I missed a couple of your mixes this one included Id love to know what you listen to find these references. Your very skillfull. If i had anything to say it would be consider getting out of Reason into a sequencer package that would help you build mixes with a wider scope. I use it for fast ideas but know the Reason strings are very seductive and when you hear them you want to put them on everything. :-)

This would be a great mix if that bloke didnt keep singing over you lovely playing.singers eh :-)

I really like this chemical, its very listenable keeps growing you have gone for same vox parts as my When I sleep mix, it really makes for a different feel and it works really nice here.

Although i am sure i can hear your neighbour shouting to keep the noise down in one part ( just kidding ) :-]

Nice mix Nick. You should have just ignored the arrangement issues and gone for you four minute changes earlier. I know when you do this kind of mix it feels right to go the length before the changes happen but this is a low listening threshhold, often seated, audience. You could have injected a few other bits from the pack to have made it more RW involved but nice job overall.

I think you have been a bit too ambitious with this production. Its a new chord sequence for sure but gabriels in the background while your new arrangement is centre stage. It should be the other way round. Get PG right in the mix and worry about the other stuff after. Agree with the comment above about the stereo balance ( listen on cans ) but that can be fixed. Nice recording though.

Essesq, You intrigue me, you lay a fair chunk of your personality on this site which is brave and revealing and this process of mixing seems to create some cathartic action within you whilst you have a clear image of your aims. What you lack in mixing skills ( which can be learned ) you make up for in commitment ( which can not ). I hope this new journey has proved worthy.

Loveshadow:-x

I love this mix .

Gabriel on Helium with Tight pants fab.

I dont give a toss about the vox its fantastic:-]

for anyone listening after who comments on the vox Morpheus has had to up the key to Em to play this riff on the guitar. Fine authentic job in my favourites.:-)

Myself, having just reconstructed the original in Origin of the Species i know you have used nearly all of the wavs and done a fine job with your mix.

Seems we were on the same path check my recent mix Origin of the Species and my notes. It takes a lot of work to build it back up, id say you were 70% there good job

Sorry your not well Hugo but thanks for your comments. Look forward to your Bliss MIx. For the record the longest mix start to finsih so far was a day and half and thats one you have not heard yet but the average is about five hours.:-)

Once again i moved to thank the last 11 people for commenting on Darwins Lament its a great motivation for me . and especially LOAF who joins Steve451 in becoming mildly addicted :-) :-)

Chemical you must be one of the first visitors to this site and you have done all mix packs top job. Thanks for your comments . You are a guitarist without a doubt and a nice solo here. You kept it well in the Celts area with nice additional production and yet still using the pack.:-)

Kind of a 2006 Electro Doors thing going on with the tremolo stuff being out of time and kind of burning thru the track . Nice and dry. My mixes are FX laden so its nice to see you cutting something closer to the listener.

I think you have one of the best comments on the site this is GAY. Very accurate. You put a really long piece in the forum and asked for more comments so i came to do that.

You have got a lot of toys and sound like you have used them all. So perhaps get that under control first. You can play and produce all right but you need to make a few more decisions.

The feel of the track for me should have been based on your guitar riff at 3.18

You have a couple of my mixes in your favourites and both of them Valium and Lament were designed to just support the lyrics and the emotion of the voice. Thatâ??s something you donâ??t have here.Try to choose your instruments and musical choices on that and you wont go far wrong.

:-)

Not exactly a depature in style but a fab mix. The transition between your sections could have been more thought about and interesting but the bones of it is sweet. If we get the chance to connect ill show you a producer i know that does this style on an international level and does it really well. :-)

The backing track on this is great. The vox dont quite work in places you in a major PGs in a minor. But when it works across a few bars it works really well .

Everything starts somewhere.even mixing .

glad you found your monkey :-)

This is a great mix Matt. Theres few mixes on here that id like to get my hands an truly help blow up but this is one of them :-)

Have Mercy. Have Found, Only Just. Cant beleive you did this before Mallets. I thought i was the only Schitz mixer on here but this is brill. With multi mixers i look for an ability to present completely different mixes every time. Its a mark of solid production ethics and with out a doubt here you got that covered :-)

Radio Times you old groover you

Bullet Time you should be a doctor

Caml valuable support as ever

Essesq the RW remix mother see`Love Child' read poem

Bitley didnt i see you by the toilets ?

Wildnoise you old latin romantic

xx to one and all :-)

Ive listened to this a few times now , still think you could have for it a bit more at the end , but full marks its beautifully done :-)

I continue to be genuinely amazed at the comments this mix recieves and can only humbly give thanks to those that have left them and to PG for sharing the magic, who by doing so has sprinkled a little of the dust my way. Loveshadow

Thanks for the comments so far, this mix is a bit of fun for me as you may realise from my notes but hey I'll take the George Michael-ish pop thing anytime.:-) :-)

Thanks for your comments Patrick and that sounds like a cool idea i have already begun a link with another mixer and suggested to the RW people a long time ago for like minded mixers to hook up. When i do things for myself I like doing retro type mixes Solar, Patrice Rushen , all that kind of stuff. You definately know your keyboard sounds though.

If your only used to doing just beats then full marks for the departure it can only help you grow musically/emotionally. The blueprint of this is quite familiar but none the less you have made it work . The nicest touches are the making you wait for the return of the vox in the centre section. So overall.Like it, do some more

Hi Peterick hows Frida. Theres a British word called Tinkering it means `messing with.' I kind of think you are undoing the success of your first mix here. If you were to drop a new mix in a different style i would vote you five just for the effort and i know you are capable of it.

Also you new vocoder lines.a bit suspect would'nt you say, I could be wrong but they possibly show your frustration with your votes. ?

I have come back here to re comment which is rare for me on as i dont think i said enough.

Whilst my view on the style still stands and is accepted this mix is a testament to someone with real talent and skill to bring it off. It has a phat production sound and i reckon Schrass is doing this for real somewhere on the planet . word up.

So if you had cut this without the gags i would gone to five :-)

Worth the wait after your other mixes. Like this the most.I'me seeing Bladerunner type images while i listen to it. You have made the vox like a script from a film and when the beat drops your well into it first class. :-)

Wouldnt be out of place in a Cohen Brothers film. Whilst others struggle with the timing of this vocal you take it to another place. With all of your technical difficulties you made it work. It has a lot of personality. Well done

Still for me the best freakin mix not only on the site but that i have heard anywhere recently. where do i sign the cheque.:-]

A last an avante track that has the mystery and beauty that all the other attempts have failed to capture a quite engaging experience.

Loveshadow:-)

There's nothing out of tune here, you have just created some different colours that Bitley can't see.

The vox could have been deeper in the mix against all that atmos, but just like your other mix i, liked it.

You have a lot of skill Ronoizer but you cant resist messin with your own groove ( as in the middle ) and going off at a tangent. The feel of last four bars is sweet, for me you should have done that earlier and just dropped back to expose your chord work devloped it and then picked it up again. Nice to see you going the other way to your other mix though.

Another great mix. Some fine vox edits and programming. Best bits happen after 3 mins for me you could have done that rip back earlier.

Style wise I think it might have been good to listen to some other mixes on this site that sound a bit like this and stay away from being too similar. Production is great and love the brass work though.

definately its goin goin man in the harbour and ime packing a rock.nice

Liked it. but it out my teeth on edge a bit.as it sounds a bit like an x rated muppets movie at the start. Lots of hard work here so cant take away from the effort. But anyway it sounds like you guys had a blast doing it.

I could not hear a damm thing wrong with it. vox sounded great to me. Nice arrangement, would have been nice to let go a bit towards the end.

But somehow i think you have done this before :-)

let me say first I like this. but i am not sure as to what i am listening to, therefore in the context of remix its hard to place. Not that that bothers me , but for me this could open the door to a lot of ambient textures where the source is no longer defined.

i dont very often come back to comment twice on too many mixes but how on earth this was not selected as a hot pick is beyond me very tactile , real, subtle ,cool .

Number four eh.its once again a progresssion and very skilled but i would have liked you to have changed the atmospere in line with outro at four mins, perhaps overall bigger and more ambient to contrast with your others.

Someone likes Donald Fagan Possibly Richard Tee here. Very , Very Well done. inspired mix

Nicely done. Nuff said.:-)

This is a really good sounding mix and the underscore is great but the garagey break beats are to in your face and distract a bit to much for me from the good work underneath. Nicely done though.

Love It. Nice quality and good instrument separation .could say it sounded like a lot of people so thats good.

Ess im proud of ya. for someone who has no experience in multitrack work you did really well. I know you have overcome some huge technical hurdles to do this. There is a sense of timing in the track that is better than a lot of the mixes on here by perhaps more experienced people. Well done and .only three other mix packs to go:-) :-)

TZ. its been well over a month since i left my comment on this track and its great that its recived the plays and votes it has. I am also glad that its a mix that keeps the song `intact' although i have nothing against any of those remixes that have broken the form. All of my original comments stand its just good to see so many people backing them up. Loveshadow:-)

Thanks PATRICK.i rate what you do. You are the only one working in this dance area and not using the traditional song format. So you are going to get flack from the purists. If i get chance ill try a dance mix out and upload it. Keep up the good work.Patrick /Bitley/ Peter / Frida whatever

Top work you matched and responded to the arabic vox beautifully. You have made a complete whole here and made it your own. Been a long time since i got something to add to my favourite list.

Peter if i am not mistaken you seem to be on bit of anti Loveshadow campaign at the moment even leaving two opposing comments on the same mix of mine. Do make your mind up.

Perhaps i am wrong maybe its just the public reaction to your new mix. Any way i had intially thought you were a professional and some one to watch but dont know anymore.

As for `Loveshadows work', as you call it, do you really think it would be so hard to come up with a house mix of this tune ????? Making this assumption shows your lack of musical knowledge on judging someones abilities. I Look forward with great interest to you next effort.

Like what you have done You could have a better arrangement, perhaps dropping back somewhere and building it up again. Your choice of chords and sounds reminds of Aha. Well done

Ok came back for a listen. I like this. The vox are all over the place but you'll probably say its meant to be but because you have such a hypnotic groove going it needs them to go with it a bit more. Its got a Doors , David Lean soundtrack feel. I think if you tame the vox a bit youll see some more action on this mix. See your on Logic 7 & so you a mac man/woman. The Sound quality is very good though.

Osteele, it is the body of work that Peter Gabriel has done over years with slow emotive and atmospheric pieces that is my inspiration for this rework. I am under his influence whilst making this so to compare or prefer it to the original is not without respect as for me, they come from the same source.

Truly glad you liked :-)

Its a shame for me that you didnt keep the early feel you got in first part of mix and started getting further away after 1.30. It was sort of seventies Credence Clearwater Rivival. You could do this entire mix like that and without the garagey beats. Chill it out poss . It has a lot of potential though in how you have done it. It shows you have spent time on it :-)

Another example of the bias nature of the listeners. This has been here ten days and listened to 59 times. Its beatifully done and yet the eletronic blippy experiments can get thousands of hits and comments that say in the main they dont like it all that much. Well come and listen to this then instead !!

You can tell when someone has spent time on a mix feeling the groove, editing the vox, adding detail , creating the final sound. Love the come back in the third verse. Sweet

Have mercy i love this even without the vox. There are parts where the vox work better than others but it doesnt matter. Also, and i think you know, you have achived a Phillip Glass feel with the arpeggios. :-)

Another cool groove suffering the seperation of the groove and vocals timing. more work on those vox wavs would have done it. More of the vocoder and less of the song would have been better.

Well well Rizlas.Nicely done short like a Pistols punk track makes you want put it on again. Like the fact you have tried another feel/genre. You should go the pub more often.

Another great effort but as i think you have found the more you use of the song the harder it is to connect those parts as your timing goes out on the groove a bit. More cutting would have cured it. Would have faded at 4.mins, but Still a great groove with or with the vox.:-)

fabulous., a dark angry wild primate.great to have you here David

Deep Respect . Kevmikwa:-)

Steve 451 You speak my mind entirely . Gabriels voice has always for me had the effortless quality of injecting an emotional twist into every word at whatever tempo. As someone who has listend to these words thousands of times and worked them back and forth in mixes then to get that in few listenings shows you have a good ear. What no one has spotted in any of my mixes, but you got close to, is there is only one `cover me' i have ever used and never the first one and the chorus is made up of words from all of the choruses plus a few other editing tricks along the way. Thanks for your words. :-)

Oberfunker just wanna say thanks for stopping by and posting comments on my mixes it was good to hear you being positive even about the ones not in the style of listening. It must have taken a while to listen to them and to do it in sequence, i think thats a first:-)

Ah Davidicus. you have a mix up .As its your first ever you are no doubt sensitive but i would resist the urge to re-comment on your own page as it

its a bit of bad form wouldnt you say. I get all sorts of things like:

i'm grooving to the result, but think you missed your own mark.

all hail the demediocrijority, the real winner here?

it feels weak on variation though.

and finally:

it's nice to get encouragement, but releasing your art into the wild from the vacuum of your basement presupposes you believe in the value of community reaction to it, regardless of the feedback's nature.

As its your first mix i 'll just say well done

OK this has been here for 5 days and no one has said a word. Dont let that get to you i think your having a go and its up here so you did it. Its a bit cahotic but the fact is there are some experimental mixes here that are a bit like this. You have got a major collection of kit that takes a lot of getting control of. So do another pick another pack one of the easier ones perhaps Bliss and try again but maybe shorter ?

A double compliment here as it Mr David K Roberts whats happenin, Epilougue 1997 is long time ago. And then to be compared to Mandalay is another top honour. For anyone who has not heard Nicola Hitchcock check her out and you,ll might see why some of Maddonas new stuff sounds the way it does. :-)

I am adding another comment in response to Kevmikwa who thinks that i think the whole mix was obvious. I dont its a referall to the fx alone . There are have been lots of bands mixing in off air comment , telephone conversations from early pink floyd to present day. Not to mention soundtracks for films such as Contact where there are nearly 6 mins of radio chatter right at the start of the film. So In that sense the use of them is obvious it is an easy way of creating unusual atmosphere in a soundscape. KevMik fails observe that i said the whole thing was good and would have worked for me without them or even fading them at some point to hear the backing. I dont mind someone disagreeing with my view but dont appreciate it being distorted.

Hi Deaconesque, as you know , this mix is sonically perfect, so i was just wondering why you had not lent you expert ear to comment on some of the other offerings on the site.

Can understand if your busy or perhaps a bit shy. Thanks :-)

This is not a comment on the track if anyone else is reading this but a question:

Simply out of curiosity who are you guys listening to/drawing your mix influences from ?

Pop it in the forum if you like

Hi Guys started a thread thought id do it in two parts to much to say in one bite

This is nice but obvious idea. Unfortunately its fx laden and so cahotic it distracts from the cute simple melody underneath. Perhaps if you had mixed out the broadcasts at sometime and given me a clear chance to hear the song i would have liked it better. Its well designed but there were times when it sounded like closing time down my local. All that breaking glass and sobbing girlfreinds. I could have listend to the backbeat without the trickery and still liked it. :-)

It reminds me of the type of work that was done for Moulin Rouge. Taking a well know tune and giving it a kind of Bob Fosse make over, you can see the hand clap being used in the choreography if you can follow that. Very Interesting

pogr4m thats a wonderfull thing to say. I cannot help but have the vox up front PGs voice is so emotional and becomes more obvious for me in this setting. I posted in the forum that these are demos so its just a balance issue but im stoked you liked it.:-)

Milan its great to see the development of the 3 parts of your work here. In each you have got closer to your forte and become more involved. Im not sure about the monkey monkey chourus as it seems a bit jokey compared the really good work you have done else where. But keep it up geezer :-)

Thanks for your comments on the mix. Reverb is one of those tricky things, some people like dry , more, less. i tried here to create a differnt space between the start, main and backing if you listen on cans you might hear it better. :-)

P.S. Couple of things you said made me smile. `Too narcotic' its all that clean air over there try living in the smokey uk and secondly I've got a copy of Fridas album in perfect condition if you want to buy it :-]

I am adding to the pile to question the voting system on the site its at two while i write this

( before i do i should say the question is not a reference to what i do, but this mix, the ratings dont bother me i,ll still upload anyway `publish and be dammed ' )

But this is a killer dance mix engineered to perfection and when you consider its been produced in Reason alone its a testment to the obvious skill of the mixer. Whats going on here ???

Ok Ime likin this a whole lot better than your other mix as you've screwed the vox sounds up and it works and beats wise its not so obvious. Id seen you had posted a few comments with no mixes up so was waiting to see what youd do . It was worth the wait.:-)

WOW. Speechless i could say more but whats the point:-) :-)

Note: I have posted in the forum a response to the above if anyone cares to read it.

Can i say at this point that i am grateful for everyone taking the time to comment in anyway on all of the mixes i have done and the support i have recived to date. :-)

Like my mama always used to say when its too good to be true then it usually is.

Emotional response why of course. ENVY.as it must be great to have all those toys to play with. :-)

I thought that possibly as i was writing it but thats not a reason not to say it. its still a great job keep it up :-)

Its a hard one this. Its a very accomplished attempt but there are some big masters mixers out there doing electro club mixes and while you got the sound and mix together i would have liked to hear you do something more tricky with the vox treatment to bring it into the vibe of the track.

otherwsie a nice job.

Great piece of work wolf, i know its a builder but only wish you had done some of the sweet vox things after 2.30 mins earlier. They are that good. :-)

Solid work as ever Chamberlain. Feels authentic as it would be as your over there. Great control in the mix aswell. nice one :-)

The most perfectly re engineered remix in the orginal form of STM yet. Top Drawer stuff. 85 release my ass:-)

Very complex mix of industrial / machino sounds. The vox treatment work is especially good. Lots of tones shapes and colours. Nice work

I didnt comment on your last mix as it seemed to quirky but here you've a done a great job its far more enjoyable and yet its still you. I think thats because you have worked with the vox and done your guitar thing. Very Talking Heads. Nice one :-)

Oh my. i did a little searchin on the net and i think i can see why you would spot a handclap sound . Ime very priveledged to have you like my mix :-) :-)

Had a listen to your KFK tunes on the site , I like those too. Unusual initials. I've Seen kraftwerk live a couple of times really good, I can hear that influence.

Thanks for your comments personally i dont get into details there are things i might change with what you have done but its not my call . I like it and thats that. For me I set out to do something different everytime on everymix and dont get to hung up on the individual sounds. But hey do a another . I rung your 4 star bell a day or so ago. Loveshadow

At last a mixer making a highly enjoyable and vibey tune where you don't need a college degree to understand the title, be a dog to appreciate the twisted freqencies or a fan to care if sounds anything like the original. Love it Bitley:-)

I listened to all your mixes again tonight you have a great ear and a lot of skill i would love to hear you do something more bare and open with one of them now you have the vox in place :-)

I seem to follow your comments around most nights Thanks for your comment again Be. Just so you know all the guitars are played live. Its a 1968 Yamaha SA 70 not many around these days. Its as creamy a sound as they come :-)

Note: This mix contains what appears to be a live news report. It is not real and has been recorded for this mix by an actor and the words written by me. It in no way infringes any other copyright in any way and no reproach should be made to Realword. Loveshadow:-)

There are several very experimental acts i like but often the success and mystery of tunes like this is down to the range of sounds and technique you start with. For every ten tunes begun perhaps only one will have that inexplainable draw. Its not a fault of the composer but the randomness of the choices. Great technique and skill at play here but for me was one of the nine that didnt work.

Hey ime first here to say i love this. The groove you created here is soulful , sexy, and understated. Shades of Maxwell, its old school so it might not get a lot votes but it gets mine.Great job:-)

Seems like im following be art around tonight but i would say the same. As a beginner its fine but perhaps you should have listened to original as what you have ended up is similar to many other mixes of this tune. These are a set of perfectly timed samples, line them up, move them around and hey presto it starts to work. So. now you got them all in line in your system, budget or whatever, do it again . but differently

I am bit with Be art on this mix, yes its possible to create these sounds from the sample pack but its also as easy to get them from somewhere else so the clarity of the source is not defined. So whilst its sonically pleasing it could be samples from an old Frank Sinatra track for all we know. If you see the problem.

I like the vocal work. If there was a budget given for doing a Monkey remix then backing singers, featured artists etc could be considered and what you have done is opened that view here and done it well.

Ime not to sure about the backing track as it seems you have spent more time building the vocals spacially in the mix than the music which is mostly in mono so it loses some of the dynamics, but it grows on you.well done.

What i like about what you do with all you mixes is you give me something new to listen to and develop the tune for a new audience. Thats what a remix is supposed to do. You always have a strong identity in your mixes as opposed to me, as im a complete schiz. nice one prog

I for one like this mix but for me its the drums in this pack that need to change. The performances are so organic and the drum loop is so woolley and mechanic to the life and crispness of the rest. Good stuff though and well arranged .

and thanks for you comment and i have done more check them out

Lots of ideas whilst staying with the core of the original. Early on there is some new thinking then after three minutes it feels totally authentic. Again, why more people have not been here/played is a mystery.

I genuinely cannot belive this was submitted in May and no one else has commented on it. Its only by accident i found it because the mixer came to my page so i hope its the same for anyone else. Fabulous job, blows away some of the recent efforts. :-)rating it high in the hope it may be found by everyone else :-)

Dont let mine or any other mixes stop you doing something in a similar style as your bound to do it differently. If you had put this in a minor key it would have been better. yes there are a lot possibilites and this is better than a lot on here so have another go.

Thanks for your comments yea i think ive had enough of the monkey now although i did do a death metal version. I then comb filtered out all the frequencies audible to humans leaving a version only audible to dogs and lama. Trouble was when i uploaded it RW said there was nothing there. Fools what do they know:-]

Coming from someone with your ear skill and ability that last comment made the last few weeks very valuable :-)

Thanks for your words Be. The mixes are in two tempo bases 148 and 125 and a half time of those so its not hard to try different approaches. The early mixes were a bit of fun tryin stuff out. The last one was for me. I may have done a few but your not doing bad yourself. keep it up :-)

Very simple but adventurous mix. With Hip Hop ,urban overtones. The beggining is great. Starts off like a Biggie track. Could have gone all the way and even dropped a Rhyme on it. Nice. feelin it.

Dont mistake me Sounda i like what you do. I am just in awe of how you get there. It always sounds caotic but i bet you placed every bit as carefully as anyone else.

I agree with TZ the style is harder than all the other mixes and angry like the orginal. Sort of Fast and Furious soundtrack . You should finish it. it will be interesting to see the difference in the final cut.

LD has gone public in the forum so so have i . Perhaps the public will decide they always do.

Sounda thanks for your comments you are the first person to describe what they hear. Rather than a Gabriel fan who asks why you have not used the bass part. :-)

Lactate deficients back, so Chapter 6 is up and i done another :-)

Unacustomed as i am to posting in my own comments page you will see i have been infected with the L.D Virus above. I know many people here have suffered an infection and felt harmed by it. However I am not and whilst L.D has every right to leave an opinion as he chooses, I have chosen to satirise his imaginary exploits in story form . These can be traced in my comments on other mixes, not wanting of course to send more people than needs be to his page. :-)

Chapter 6.

tired.L.D logged onto the site.after what seemed like days struggling to strech his fingers to form a Dm minor chord on the keyboard. His hand ached as he typed . But he was prepared to suffer for his art.

Shit no. he gasped Loveshadow had another mix up of the monkey, how ?? there were even new mixers on board and even Caml had a monkey mix in the pipeline. He had no choice but to attack. Rat on the Rat he thought. Unfortunately he'd forgot his alter ego, Bruvver Man and typed it in plain english. Damm it was too late he'd posted it. The world could see he was human after all. Or was it the creative pressure of his Monkey mix. He stuck plasters on his sore finger tips, stretched his swollen fingers and worked on. Dm.No thats a C.Dm.no thats major.damm damm.to be continued

Sounda I have no idea whats going inside your head but like your last mix, it sounds like a fun/crazy place to be. Post your diet in the forum and ill try it for a week and see what happens.

P.S. You dont live near Electric Pylons Do you ???:-)

Its nice but with a similar down feel to your last one, which i prefer, but now with a string section.I Would have liked you to give another take on it as your playing shows your more than capable of doing it.

Hey analog this is a phat mix some really nice touches surface noise works well. you,ve really used the elements well. im glad i never heard this when i did mine as i would have been influenced. Nice man

hey caml if you,ve got time to type you've got time to do another mix come on hurry up i cant keep playing this all the time.:-]

What you you managed to do here is get that innocent feel out of this . Its a bit big on the reverb side reminds me of some of the john lennon tracks with yoko on and beautiful boy. You could have done a full version with the piano Chords

Just getting round to hear some of the older mixes nice one, lots of energy, great arrangement and breaks. Very Matrix

Its in your face great. just found it. love the distorted bass. Nice Job, Very JK. .

and sorry to see you've been infected with the L.D, virus.

Its better in the mix department but you still have some odd chords not making the vocal work but also some are strange and interesting . I dont know what you've put the vox through but its successful in making it sound like Peter Gabriel cant sing so it makes me feel a lot better about my own feeble attempts. Keep going it'll get sorted.

I like how you have backed the chourus havnt heard anyone do that me included . I heard the slow

( wrong ) version and liked that a little better than this. Perhaps you could remix your remix and have two versions. :-)

Lees stuff grows on you like a recurring dream. You need to be open and feel what happens as the mix progreses it has a bowie quality about and if he,d done it everyone would be saying how fresh and artistic it is. I love it man i leaves me with questions but its so unique and angular to the original it pulls you in like a drug. Imagine images of the matrix or Apocalypse Now and tell me its not good

. chapter 5.

As LD slowly came to senses he struggled to understand the missing Disc. Someone had taken he reasoned ( although he didnt like Reason 2. )Loveshadow he thought, no wait Caml he countered. It could,nt be gnome06 he,d only just met him. it was going to be a long evening. He'd have to retrace his steps, review his comments. Perhaps report it to the police ? No he could,nt face the publicy. the words ` and the news is breaking , slipped unwantingly into his head. he reached for the pc .It was time he thought. Time to unleash his staggering creative power on the universe . i'll show them he, said, the fools. Yes it was time for him. It was time for him to play a .chord.

. chapter 4.

L.D paced the empty space of his bedroom, the freshly boxed row of Action men looked down upon him, ominously from the shelf.he stopped. The monkey lyrics were burning in his mind, thru the fire, when i run, he said to himself. At that moment he wanted to. But inside him a creative turmoil was stirring . He picked up the Dance E jay box and opened it. A wave of sickly terror came over him and he fell to his knees . It was empty. to be continued

.Wheres the monkey mix L.D, the voice said. it ehoed across the still silence of the dusty action man set. The comment floated, hung heavy in the empty air and finally faded.L.D bit lip .

Poor poor L.D nobody loves him will eh ever change his ways or his loop library only time will tell. will he do a Monkey Mix, wont he, the public waits the pressure mounts, can he take it, can he step up to the plate and take a shot. stay tuned folks its a Big Bruvver Clif hanger and L.D s up for evictions.chills

Anything on the edge is difficult for the loopers to accept. Another top piece of work. Its got shades of weather report and prog jazz. I know its an RW artist but i know a label that would die for this mix

Just found your other mixes. great. I thought there was only one this is inspired stuff. Dark dirty avant .This freakin great .Go Lee

Cant belive I found this at the bottom of the pile Possibly the oldest mix on here. Someone with an instrument in their hands. I have to sit down. oh i already am. Your mix is not proficient but your take on the song is. Needs to build and fall as Lalo Shifrin would have done but good jobX-{

PS. Im adding this to my favourites cant wait for the next episode its better than 24 :-)

If i had to descibe this i would say it sounds like Peter gabriel trying to do a gig in Games arcade, whilst the building is under attack, at the same time the council are trying to mend the road outside. Finally in the confusion a woman with a cat is fatally injured and everyone comes to their senses and stops. As a piece of experimental audio theatre its mind boggling .

Chunk i only just got round to hearing this . I like the New York smokey feel about this. theres a drop back around 4.16 that could start this nicely .If you could weave a few more vox parts set them back in the mix it would develop the interest for me. One of the reasons companies /artists comission remixes is to develop a new listening audience. On that basis this does it.

Whilst i think the backing tracks got something new about it, it sounds as though a drunk Peter gabriel has walked into the studio and grabbed the mic. The vox dont connect in places with the vibe you,ve created. For me if you had twisted the vox even more out of reconition , it would have been better. Still like it though

Get hold of recycle and make your own rex files drums or whatever to go into Reason . It makes reason your own and not what propellor have given as standard. Ive commented on your other mixes so wont repeat that here. But its another good start.

What i like about what you,ve done is that you have attempted very different approaches to each mix and whilst they may suffer a bit sonically that is what a remixer is suppose to do. The last thing a record company who commisions a remix wants is the original. Or a beat that just sticks the vocal on it

keeping doin this. youll get better.

Hey L.D Whens the action men video out for this spose you will get Barbie do the girl parts ??

When you say the top twenty you didnt say which country i am assuming you mean Nauru - There's only 13,000 residents there and most of them work 15 hours a day mainly in mines, so when they hear this it should lift their dreary lives. Nice one L.D.and people say you dont care

So wheres your monkey mix Lame Duck packs been out a while, or have you lost your Dance Ejay CD. what else you got hotshot. seems that your quick to spit when your only making s**t.

Still waiting

I had'nt thought of Limp D-K i had thought of Lactate deficient ( not breast fed ) Lacking Direction , Loves Dissing, Lame duck, Low Density as in weaker than chipboard, or Aldi ( get it ? ) the cheap supermarket. Thanks for your comments by the way they are the only ones i technically listen too.

The vox drift a bit but if you ever saw genesis play live then there were sections of their show that started like this. nice

It takes time to find good mixes amongst all the stuff and to get to see whats been added to the samples by becoming familiar with the tune. this is really good

Ime leaving another comment cause i really do think this is good. Love the drop back and build. You thought hard about it all and it shows

Its an overload of ideas like four mixes in one, but its well inventive which is more than L.D has who would do more mixes but he,s lost his dance ejay cd. You obviously like cutting up the wavs acid style if you could organise it a little more and try to get it sounding harder, less verb, i reckon it would be good.

Hey LD hows it goin, jeez man i totally missed this mix when i was looking. I didnt know you had done it. I think i know what you doing here with this unfortunately i nodded off in the first 20 seconds and blow me the loop was still going when i woke up . You should get Realworld to market this as a cure for insominia. Awesome

You cracked it. Its much better. It takes a few attempts to build the mood and feel with a lyric and vocal in any remix. Its a bit reverb heavey on the vox at the end but thats nothing man . I like:-)

Fantastic work, I love it. Fantastic mix aswell.Theres are lot of effort and experience here. Just goes to show how different chord progressions can change the mood.:-)

It works. The off time synth and FX destroys the vocal in the second verse as they are dead centre. listen on cans. Panning it would have left PG in the centre. But well a solid groove.

Great Job, its got a Disney, innocent, quality about it. I think its more calypso than reggae.

Do your homework.find out where Eno started and read the notes. Jeez its not the Da Vinci Code :-]

Predictable old speed loops and tired four bar rising snare drum to create impact on the pick up you get it together ok but so does my 12 year old nephew on a cheap £200 quid laptop. Ill get him to post a mix if he can be bothered and show you something new. Free you mind boys. :O=

Like this. Like the fact you,ve shifted and treated the vox something no one else has dared do . Your brave holding the same key i would have been itching to move.

This is ourageously brilliant the most adventurous and accidently inspired mix on this site. How ever you did it .do another:-)

Did you see i remixed Resistencia R Kelly style ?

I have a company website but i am not posting details here as there are a few idiots walking the halls together and a few other reasons. I have however suggested to Realworld the option of being able to contact people direct with them acting as a go between. You obviously have a soundtrack capability and thats what interests me. The monkey tracks a challenge as the recordings not that good and needs work to cut and tune. I have a possible two other attemps on the go and thats me done. Ive done the latin track and might do that again uptempo. Stay safe. :-)

Considering your stated experience i would have thought you could do better than this. Its Echo mad as PG says .I cant take It!

It holds together reasonably well it could have been two minutes shorter. It all sounds a bit wooden and over quantised. But a good effort. There are some dance mixes of this tune on the site perhaps you hav'nt looked hard enough

There are few people on here mixing beats like this who belive they know how to do it but have to say your at the top and show the way. Some of your similar genere admirers should study what you have done and learn. Nice Job

Yet another Dance E Jay type programmed effort trying to attach a vocal to groove. Ask yourself this would you have put this vocal on it if you had done it without wanting to enter it here. There are VSt instruments and keyboards that do all this by just switching on them on. If your going to do this style do it better !:O=

I just listened to this again. Its great.so tell me when the hell are you going do another track !!!:-)

It takes days to find the good stuff on this site and after four i have only found 3 i fully rate and this is number 3. Theres lots you could have done with it but its here and done. I bought the Tomb Raider soundtrack for a piece that was in the film like this. :-)

Its a nodder. The drop backs keep you interested with such an obvious latin riff. its another mix that suffers from an over use of reverb /ambience that would have put the swing groove in your face but nice :-)

You built it well its got a live feel . the arrangment is good the mix is a bit reverb heavey but what the hey .Forget the tech critics on the mix its the vibe you got covered here.its hard to create interest with such a familiar and obvious riff but i listend to the end.:-)

You blew me away Caml !!! come on over to my house. Ive been trolling around in here for a few days and then i find someone who knows. This has so much emotion in it my laptop cried. Outstanding

First thing you replaced the drums a good move secondly i rate it. Its like a Pink Floyd and Mike Oldfield collaboration. Would have bit or grain destroyed the added telphone voice samples or replaced them with something more obscure to offset the clean atmosphere but very nice .

OK Sure they are great original samples and you can talk all day about the ethics of a remix but i know this is skilled work. I like this chord progression better than the original it deepens the power of the vox. I wanted it to get going earlier and it could have easily done it then dropped again and hit it even bigger at the end. Superp use of the stereo space. Its up there for me.

Have to agree with the drum comments after i can hear you have put so much work into building the vox and music tracks. You could have added an alternate bass line to match your beats and dirty it all up. Good effort though

Sonically it suffers a bit but i like it. You,ve ignored the chourus but what the hey . Its a Depche mode clone but retros in ask Golfrapp

Oh dear you seem to P**s everyone off but i get this feeling you dont mean to. Confidence is one thing arrogance is another but i guess thats just you. I can see where you were going with this but its not doing it. Listen on headphones and its almost mono throughout. A more spacial bigger mix would work better

Hey at last someone gets it. Thats why its called Flash The Monkey, As in Flashdance get those leg warmers out !:-) :-) :-)

Forgot to say in the notes:

NO ANIMALS WERE INJURED IN THE MAKING OF THIS REMIX.

Loveshadow :-)

Very accomplished, would have destroyed the vox to mix with your dirt and could listen to a whole version with the drop back vibe

Its good stuff. You said some bits need doing so no need to go there. The second half is great the chorus rebuild is the most successful. It sounds like Bowie in the chorus moving into massive attack / verve at the end. :-)
